About The Little Red Riding Hood
''About the Little Red Riding Hood'' (russian: Про Красную Шапочку, Pro Krasnuyu Shapochku, italic=yes) is a 1977 Soviet two-part musical TV movie based on the ideas of Charles Perrault and directed by Leonid Nechayev. The story is a sequel of the tale of Little Red Riding Hood. The film is a deconstruction of the classic fairy tale. The manner in which the characters of the wolves is portrayed is different from the original story, as the wolves are viewed as human beings throughout the film. They are akin to a family of forest hermits or a clan of bandits. Plot The story takes place one year after the well-known story of Little Red Riding Hood. The wolf, who had been killed by the woodcutter, is revealed to have left behind family and friends who now wish to get revenge on Little Red. Leonid Alexeyevich Nechayev (russian: Леони́д Алексе́евич Неча́ев; 3 May 1939 – 24 January 2010) was a Russian children's film director.Елена ЮринскаяПапа Лёня: Скончался кинорежиссёр Леонид Нечаев.Российская газета. January 25, 2010. Career Nechayev's career as director was launched in 1974 with a film called ''Adventures in a City that does not Exist''. He was also the creator of the popular musical fairy tales ''About The Little Red Riding Hood'' and '' The Adventures of Buratino''. He was a prolific director at the studio Belarusfilm, where he worked for 17 years and shot 10 films. The Minsk Museum of Cinema has a hall exclusively dedicated to his creative legacy. Belarusfilm ( be, Беларусьфільм) is the main film studio of Belarus. History Belarusfilm, under the name ''Belgoskino'' was founded in 1924. In 1928, the ''Soviet Belarus'' studio (''Савецкая Беларусь'') was founded in Leningrad. The studio was moved to Minsk in 1939. Film production was interrupted by World War II, and restarted in 1946, when the studio assumed its current name.
