Abolghasem Wafi Yazdi
Ayatollah Abolghasem Wafi Yazdi ( fa, ابوالقاسم وافی یزدی), born in 1935, in Hoseynabad, Yazd, is a Shia cleric and member of the Assembly of Experts. He was also one of the representatives of the city of Yazd in the first and the second terms of the Islamic Consultative Assembly in Iran. Education At the age of five, Wafi began to learn the Quran and then went to school and later to high school. Afterwards, he went to the seminary in Yazd and completed the preliminary courses as well as some courses of "Sath" (meaning level or surface). In 1957, he went to Qom to further his studies at "Sath". Then he went to Qom seminary to study Kharij courses. Assembly Of Experts
The Assembly of Experts ( fa, مجلس خبرگان رهبری, majles-e khobregân-e rahbari), also translated as the Assembly of Experts of the Leadership or as the Council of Experts, is the deliberative body empowered to appoint the Supreme Leader of Iran. All directly elected members must first be vetted by the Guardian Council. All candidates to the Assembly of Experts must be approved by the Guardian Council whose members are, in turn, appointed either directly or indirectly by the Supreme Leader. The Assembly consists of 88 Mujtahids that are elected(see Article 108 of the constitution) from lists of thoroughly vetted candidates (in 2016 166 candidates were approved by the Guardians out of 801 who applied to run for the office), by direct public vote for eight-year terms. The number of members has ranged from 82 elected in 1982 to 88 elected in 2016. Current laws require the assembly to meet at least twice every six months. Hossein Kazemeyni Boroujerdi (also Hosein Kazemaini Boroujerdi) (born August 1, 1958) is a former Iranian Twelver Shia Islam, Shi'i Muslim Ayatollah and cleric who advocates the Separation of church and state, separation of religion and government and has been arrested and jailed several times by the Iranian government for his criticisms directed against the Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. After eleven years as a political and religious prisoner, Boroujerdi Defrocking, defrocked, abandoning his status as an Ayatollah, and became an anti-religion activist. The Iranian state allegedly tried to have him killed after accusing him of apostasy. Ruhollah Khomeini, Ayatollah Khomeini, Imam Khomeini ( , ; ; 17 May 1900 – 3 June 1989) was an Iranian political and religious leader who served as the first supreme leader of Iran from 1979 until his death in 1989. Morteza Haeri Yazdi ( fa, مرتضی حائری یزدی; October 12, 1916 – March 16, 1986) was the son of Shia Islam Faqīh Abdul-Karim Haeri Yazdi. Education He attended seminary in Qom, and was educated by professors such as Mohammad-Reza Golpaygani, Mohammad Taqi Khansari and Seyyed Mohammad Mohaghegh Damad. Hussein-Ali Montazeri
Grand Ayatollah Hussein-Ali Montazeri ( fa, حسینعلی منتظری‎ ; 24 September 1922 – 19 December 2009) was an Iranian Shia Islamic theologian, Islamic democracy advocate, writer and human rights activist.
