Denis Aberhart
Denis Charles Aberhart (born 23 March 1953) is a former New Zealand first-class cricketer who played for Canterbury Wizards, Canterbury and Central Districts Stags, Central Districts between 1976/77 and 1983/84. He was a school teacher who served as principal of several schools in Christchurch. Life and career Aberhart was a right-arm medium-pace bowler and useful lower-order batsman. His best first-class figures were 6 for 55 for Central Districts against Auckland cricket team, Auckland in 1982–83. Auckland, chasing 284 to win, were 269 for 6 before Aberhart took the last four wickets to give Central Districts victory by eight runs. In December 1981 he won the player of the match award when he took 4 for 32 against Auckland when Central Districts won by three wickets. He also played for Marlborough cricket team, Marlborough in the Hawke Cup. Laurence Geoffrey Aberhart (born 1949) is a New Zealand photographer. Biography Aberhart was born in Nelson in 1949, along with three siblings, and was educated at Nelson College from 1963 to 1966.''Nelson College Old Boys' Register, 1856–2006'', 6th edition He moved to Lyttelton in the late 1960s, before finally moving to Russell where he still lives and works today. Aberhart travels often and has produced many collections of photographs taken around the world. Although he photographs numerous subjects, Aberhart is best known for his photography of buildings from around the world. His subject matter includes Masonic lodges, war memorials, houses and the occasional landscape. William Aberhart
William Aberhart (December 30, 1878 – May 23, 1943), also known as "Bible Bill" for his outspoken Baptist views, was a Canadian politician and the seventh premier of Alberta from 1935 to his death in 1943. He was the founder and first leader of the Alberta Social Credit Party, which believed the Great Depression was caused by ordinary people not having enough to spend. Therefore, Aberhart argued that the government should give each Albertan $25 per month to spend to stimulate the economy, by providing needed purchasing power to allow needy customers to buy from waiting businesses. During his premiership, Aberhart campaigned for and instituted several anti-poverty and debt relief programs, and other governmental reforms, such as consolidation of Alberta's numerous small school districts into centralized school divisions, and natural resources conservation.
