Aberdeen University Football Club is an association football team representing the University of Aberdeen. History Early years The University Club was formed in 1872 and became members of the SFA in 1904. Aberdeen University has qualified to the main section of the Scottish Cup competition three times. In 1907, Aberdeen University lost 5–1 to Raith Rovers at Kirkcaldy whilst in 1925 the Club travelled to Dundee United only to go down 5–1 in the first Round. The only home tie played by the Uni after qualifying was in 1913 when the visitors were Peebles Rovers. In front of 2000 spectators, Aberdeen University lost 3–0. For 1954–55, 1955–56, and 1956–57, the SFA scrapped the qualifying rounds, and put all entrants into the first round proper. The Uni lost in the first round every time, but in 1954–55 did take Girvan F.C. to a replay. Deveronvale F
Deveronvale Football Club are a senior association football club currently playing the Highland Football League in Scotland. They were founded in 1938 and play their football at the Princess Royal Park in the town of Banff, (formerly Banffshire, now officially Aberdeenshire), Scotland. The club was formed in 1938 when Deveron Valley and Banff Rovers joined together. The name comes from the River Deveron, which has its mouth at Banff. After they were formed, it took them one year to get into the Highland League. In August 1939, Deveronvale played their first league game. Their first win came a month later. Kevin Rutkiewicz
Kevin Rutkiewicz (born 10 May 1980) is a Scottish professional football player and coach, who is the current manager of Lowland League side East Kilbride. He was formally the manager of Scottish League Two club Stirling Albion. Ruthkiewicz played as a defender for Aberdeen, St Johnstone, Dunfermline Athletic, Greenock Morton, East Fife and American club Carolina RailHawks. After a stint as player/assistant manager at Annan Athletic, Rutkiewicz was appointed Stirling Albion manager in October 2018. He would announce his resignation in December 2021. Dennis Wyness
Dennis Wyness (born 22 March 1977) is a retired Scottish footballer. He played either as an attacking midfielder or as a striker. He has previously played for Aberdeen, Inverness CT, Hearts, St Mirren, Queen of the South, Dumbarton, Peterhead, Elgin City and Huntly. Notably, Wyness scored over 100 goals for Inverness during two spells with the club. Career Wyness began his career at Aberdeen, where he originally played as a midfielder. James Hamilton (born 9 February 1976) is a Scottish retired footballer who played as a striker in a career that saw him appear for thirteen different league clubs, including Dundee, Heart of Midlothian, Aberdeen, Dundee United, Motherwell, Dunfermline Athletic and St Mirren in the top tier. Gary Smith (born 25 March 1971) is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as a defender. Career Club career Smith was born in Glasgow, Scotland. Cameron Barracks
Cameron Barracks stands on Knockentinnel Hill on the eastern outskirts of Inverness in Scotland. History The barracks were built by the Royal Engineers' Office between 1880 and 1886. In 1873 a system of recruiting areas based on counties had been instituted under the Cardwell Reforms and the barracks were intended to become the depot for the 71st (Highland) Regiment of Foot and the 78th (Highlanders) Regiment of Foot. Following the Childers Reforms, the barracks became depot of the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders in 1881. During the First World War, the barracks was used to process many thousands of volunteer recruits. Returning wounded and demobilising soldiers also passed through the barracks towards the end of the war and on its conclusion. Joseph Montgomery Harper (born 11 January 1948) is a Scottish former footballer, mainly remembered for his two spells with Aberdeen, during which he won the three main domestic trophies once each and became the club's record goalscorer with 206 goals in major competitions.
