Abellio London
Transport UK London Bus, formerly Abellio London, is a bus company operating services under contract to Transport for London in Greater London, England. History The origins of Transport UK London Bus can be traced back to June 1998, when National Express commenced operating routes London Buses route C1, C1 and London Buses route 211, 211 under the Travel London brand. In August 2000, National Express sold the business to Limebourne, who in July 2001 sold out to Connex Bus UK, Connex. In February 2004, National Express repurchased the business. Travel London operated contracts on behalf of Transport for London (TfL). On 21 May 2009, National Express sold Travel London to Abellio (transport company), Abellio. The sale included 36 TfL-tendered services. All vehicles, depots and staff were included. On 30 October 2009 the business was rebranded as Abellio London. New Routemaster
The New Routemaster, originally referred to as the New Bus for London and colloquially as the Borismaster or Boris Bus, is a low-floor Hybrid electric bus, hybrid diesel–electric double-decker bus operated in London, England. London Buses Route 427
London Buses route 427 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Uxbridge and Southall, it is operated by Transport UK London Bus. It has a limited stop equivalent route; SL8. History The conversion of route 207 to articulated buses resulted in the route no longer being able to serve Uxbridge, due to tight turns in the town centre, so the route was split into two sections on 9 April 2005 with the western end between Uxbridge station and Acton renumbered 427, running from Acton (AT) garage using Dennis Trident 2s cascaded from route 207. Transport for London were proposing to build the West London Tram between Shepherd's Bush and Uxbridge, running along Uxbridge Road. The tram would have replaced routes 207, 427 and 607. London Buses route 133 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Streatham and Holborn stations, it is operated by Transport UK London Bus. History Route 133 commenced operating on 27 March 1929 from South Croydon to Liverpool Street station. On 24 July 1971, the route was withdrawn between Croydon and Streatham with one man operation introduced with Daimler Fleetlines. Upon being put out to tender, it was taken over by London General's Stockwell garage on 6 January 1990 with Northern Counties bodied Volvo Citybuses. London Buses route 27 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Chalk Farm and Hammersmith Grove, it is operated by Transport UK London Bus. History Route 27 was introduced between Hounslow and Muswell Hill via current London Buses route 281, route 281 and Twickenham, Richmond, London, Richmond, Kew and Turnham Green. At Camden Town, the route operated to Archway, London, Archway and Muswell Hill. The route was extended from Turnham Green to Hounslow in 1911. The route operated through World War II, when it was used by famous passengers including Peter Cushing to reach the Q Theatre near Kew Bridge. History Route 24 dates back to 1910, when it ran between Hampstead Heath and London Victoria station, Victoria station. In August 1912 it was extended to Pimlico and has continued in that form until the present day, making this the oldest unchanged bus route in London.
