Abellio (transport Company)
Abellio is a Dutch public transport company that operates bus and rail services in the United Kingdom and Germany. It was founded as NedRailways in 2001, before being renamed Abellio in January 2010. Abellio is wholly owned by the Dutch national railway company, Nederlandse Spoorwegen. United Kingdom It was announced on 23 August 2022 that Abellio's UK rail and bus operations are to be sold by Nederlandse Spoorwegen to UK-based ownership in a management buyout, subject to approval by the Office of Rail and Road and partner organisations such as Merseytravel and Transport for London. The Tyne and Wear Metro is an overground and underground light rail rapid transit system serving Newcastle upon Tyne, Gateshead, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, and the City of Sunderland (together forming Tyne and Wear). The network opened in stages from August 1980 and now serves a total of 60 stations, with two lines covering of track. London Midland was a train operating company in England which operated the West Midlands franchise between 11 November 2007 and 10 December 2017. It was owned by the British transport group Govia. London Midland was created as a result of Govia being awarded the West Midlands franchise on 22 June 2007. Fulwell Bus Garage is a Transport for London bus garage located in Twickenham in west London. It is north of Fulwell railway station and operates as two halves, with entrances on the A311 Wellington Road and B358 Stanley Road. It is currently operated by Abellio (London & Surrey), Abellio London and London United Busways, London United. History Fulwell Bus Garage was originally built as a tram depot for London United Tramways in 1902. The site formerly formed the southerly part of the Charles James Freake, Freake Fulwell Park, Fulwell Park Estate and came on the market following the death of the Dowager Lady Freake in 1901.
