Abe Bonnema
Abe Bonnema (6 September 1926 – 9 August 2001) was a Dutch architect. He studied architectural engineering at the Delft University of Technology. He established his own office for architecture and spatial planning, first in Leeuwarden, then in Hurdegaryp. He was a functionalist architect. In addition to buildings for care, education and offices, Bonnema has designed more than a thousand homes in Leeuwarden. The Netherlands Institute for Art History or RKD (Dutch: RKD-Nederlands Instituut voor Kunstgeschiedenis), previously Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie (RKD), is located in The Hague and is home to the largest art history center in the world. The center specializes in documentation, archives, and books on Western art from the late Middle Ages until modern times. All of this is open to the public, and much of it has been digitized and is available on their website. The main goal of the bureau is to collect, categorize, and make art research available, most notably in the field of Dutch Masters. Hubert-Jan Henket
Hubert-Jan Henket (born 11 March 1940, in Heerlen) is a Dutch architect. He is a specialist in the relations between old and new buildings, the redesign of buildings, renovation and restoration. He is the founder of DOCOMOMO international. Life Henket graduated in 1969 cum laude in architecture from the Technische Hogeschool Delft (Delft University of Technology) where he was taught by Jaap Bakema and Aldo van Eyck. In 1969-1970 he was given a grant by the Finnish government to study urbanism at the Otaniemi university of Helsinki, Teknillinen korkeakoulu. He worked with the Finnish architect Reima Pietilä. The Fries Museum (Frisian Museum) is a museum in Leeuwarden, Netherlands. It has won the Global Fine Art Award which is sometimes nicknamed the Museum-Oscar. History (1881-2012) The museum was founded on 13 April 1881 by the "''Provincial Friesch Genootschap ter Beoefening van Friesche Geschied-, Oudheid- en Taalkunde''", a society for the preservation of Frisian culture that itself was founded in 1827 and needed a place to exhibit the various artifacts it had gathered together.
