Abdussalam Abdulkarim Zaura (born 7 February 1977), also known as A. A. Zaura, is a Nigerian businessman, philanthropist, and politician. He is the founder of the A. A. Zaura Foundation, a non-governmental organization that focuses on humanitarian and developmental projects. He contested the Kano Central senatorial election in 2023 as a candidate of the APC, but lost to Rufa'i Hanga of the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP). Early life and education Zaura was born in Dakata, Nassarawa Local Government, Kano State. He hails from Zaura Babba in Ungogo Local Government, Kano State. He completed his primary education in Zaura Babba and pursued his secondary education at Government Technical College Bagauda in Kano. 2023 Nigerian General Election
The 2023 Nigerian general election will be held, in large part, on 25 February and 11 March 2023. The President and Vice President will be elected on 25 February, with incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari ineligible to run, being term-limited. Additionally, there will also be elections on the same day for the Senate and the House of Representatives. On 11 March, twenty-eight gubernatorial elections will be held alongside elections to state houses of assembly in all 36 states. The 2019 Kano State gubernatorial election occurred on March 9, 2019. APC candidate Abdullahi Umar Ganduje won re-election for a second term, defeating PDP Abba Kabir Yusuf and other 53 candidates.
