Major-General Abdullah Saeed was a Pakistani generalDefence Journal (Pakistan) 2012, Volume 16, Issue 2, Pg.1 who served as Commandant of the Pakistan Military Academy at Kakul, Chief Martial Law Administrator for Baluchistan when Zia overthrew Bhutto and later Pakistan's ambassador to Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Venezuela and Cuba under Zia-ul-Haq. Early career Saeed started his career in 6 Frontier Force (FF) Regiment after he graduated the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) course in 1948. Personal life He was born in Abottabad in the northern Hazara region of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Major-General
Major general (abbreviated MG, maj. gen. and similar) is a military rank used in many countries. It is derived from the older rank of sergeant major general. The disappearance of the "sergeant" in the title explains the apparent confusion of a lieutenant general outranking a major general, whereas a major outranks a lieutenant. In the Commonwealth and in the United States, when appointed to a field command, a major general is typically in command of a division consisting of around 6,000 to 25,000 troops (several regiments or brigades).
