Abdul Latif Rashid
Abdul Latif Rashid (; born 10 August 1944), also known as Latif Rashid () is an Iraqi Kurdish politician and the ninth president of Iraq, following the 2022 Iraqi presidential election. He was previously the Minister of Water Resources under the government of Nouri al-Maliki. Prior to that, he served in the same position under both the Iraqi Transitional Government and the Iraqi Interim Government. Rashid was formerly a spokesperson for the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) in the United Kingdom. He is a graduate of the University of Manchester. As Minister for Water Resources from September 2003 until December 2010, Rashid was responsible for a range of issues, including irrigation, municipal and industrial water supply, hydropower, flood control, and environmental requirements including marsh restoration. Abdul Rashid (agriculturist)
Abdul Rashid, (born 1950) is a Pakistani agricultural scientist, who has served as a Member (Bio-sciences) of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) from 2008 to 2011 and Director General of Pakistan's National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) from 2006 to 2008. He received a Ph.D. from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Hawaii, in the United States. Early life and career Abdul Rashid studied mechanisms of zinc deficiency in rice, wheat, and corn from 1973 to 1979. Those studies and establishments led him to a position of collaboration at the ''Micronutrients Project'' in Pakistan. Eventually, he obtained BSc (Honors) and MSc (Honors) from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Pakistan, and after winning an East-West Center scholarship, he received his PhD in agronomy and soil science from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Honolulu, in 1986. Abdul Rahim Rasheed (13 November 1937 – 3 October 2006) was a Fijian-born Indian Muslim community leader and lawyer in New Zealand. Upbringing and education Abdul Rahim Rasheed was born in Fiji on 13 November 1937. In 1967 he migrated to New Zealand to study law at the University of Auckland where he gained an LL.B. degree and undertook the Law Professional exams in 1972. He practised as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand for over 21 years and is remembered for “introducing the ''mens rea'' ingredient to the offence of overstaying”. Career In 1969 Rasheed and several Auckland based Indian Muslims from Fiji set up the Anjuman Himayat Al-Islami. Rasheed provided leadership and legal advice. Abdul Rasjid Siregar gelar Mangaradja Mahkota Soeangkoepon (born 1891, date of death unknown, Perfected Spelling: Abdul Rasyid Siregar gelar Mangaraja Suangkupon), commonly known as Dr. Abdul Rasjid, was a politician and physician in the Dutch East Indies. He was elected or appointed to the Volksraad from 1931 to 1942, during which time he sat with the Indonesian nationalist faction. Sir Mian Abdul Rashid, KCSI ( ur, ; 29 June 1889 – 6 November 1981) was the first Chief Justice of Pakistan, legal philosopher, one of the founding fathers of Pakistan, and a jurist. Education He was born on 29 June 1889 in a well-known Arain family, namely Mian family of Baghbanpura of Lahore. He received his early education at Central Model School in Lahore, and got his B.A. from Forman Christian College, also in Lahore, and a Tripos and Masters from Christ's College, Cambridge University in 1912. Lala Abdul Rashid or Abdul Rashid (1 June 1922 – 8 March 1988) was a member of Pakistan's gold medal winning 1960 Olympic field hockey team. He played as a goalkeeper throughout the tournament. Early life and education Born in Rawalpindi, British India on 1 June 1922, he originated from a Kashmiri Butt family whose parents migrated from Kashmir in early 1900s. He studied at ''Danny's High School'' in Rawalpindi and then joined Gordon College (Pakistan), where he played hockey.
