Political career He ran for the seat of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan as a candidate of Pakhtun-khwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) from Constituency PB-12 (Qilla Abdullah-II) in 2013 Pakistani general election but was unsuccessful. He received 5,822 votes and lost the seat to Zmrak Khan. Pakhtun-khwa Milli Awami Party
The Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (; ), abbreviated as PMAP or PKMAP, is a political party in Pakistan's Balochistan province. It was founded by Mahmood Khan Achakzai, who was elected as the chairman, and Sher Ali Bacha, who served as the General Secretary, in March 1989 in Quetta. The party was a coalition partner of the PML-N in the Balochistan government following the 2013 elections and stood by the pmln during some of the latter's most challenging times in government. Ideology PkMAP has opposed the merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and has been widely criticized for the position. Its chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai has previously suggested that FATA should be governed either by a governor or a council that should be elected through adult franchise. The Provincial Assembly of Balochistan is a unicameral legislature of elected representatives of the Pakistani province of Balochistan, and is located in Quetta, the provincial capital. It was established under Article 106 of the Constitution of Pakistan having a total of 65 seats, with 51 general seats, 11 seats reserved for women and 3 reserved for non-Muslims. 2013 Pakistani General Election
General elections were held in Pakistan on Saturday 11 May 2013 to elect the members of the 14th National Assembly and the four Provincial Assemblies. The three major parties were the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) led by Nawaz Sharif, the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) led by President Asif Ali Zardari and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by Imran Khan. Prior to the elections, the ruling PPP formed an alliance with the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) and Awami National Party, while the main opposition party, the PML-N allied with the Pakistan Muslim League (F) and Baloch parties. Mahmood Khan Achakzai ( ps, محمود خان اڅکزی; born 14 December 1948) is a Pakistani Pashtun politician who is the chairman of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP) till 27th December of 2022.
