Abdul Mannan (politician)
Abdul Mannan (7 October 1929 – 5 April 2005) was a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the first Minister of Home Affairs of independent Bangladesh from April 1972 to March 1973. Early life He was born in Katuli, Tangail on 7 October 1929. In 1944 he graduated from Bindubasini Government Boys High School. He studied at Karatia Sadat College and graduated from Dhaka University in 1951. He was a professor in Ananda Mohan College and Haraganga College. His later worked as an income tax adviser. Career He was involved in Bengali Nationalist movements such as the language movement of 1952, Six point movement, and 1969 uprising in East Pakistan. In 1969 he was president of the Tangail district unit of Awami League in 1969 and the publicity secretary of All Pakistan Awami League. Abdul Malek Ukil
Abdul Malek Ukil ( bn, আব্দুল মালেক উকিল; 1 October 192417 October 1987) was the President of Bangladesh Awami League, Speaker of Parliament, Home Minister, Health Minister, a member of Parliament for many years and a lawyer of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He was one of the drafters of the Constitution of Bangladesh and also one of the founding members of East Bengal Muslim Students League. Early life Abdul Malek Ukil was born in Rajapur village of Noakhali Sadar Upazila in Noakhali District. His educational life began at Noakhali Ahmadia High Madrasa, from where he passed his Madrasa Examination with general scholarship and a Letter in Mathematics. Six Point Movement
The six point movement was a movement in East Pakistan, spearheaded by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, which called for greater autonomy for East Pakistan. The movement's main agenda was to realize the six demands put forward by a coalition of Bengali nationalist political parties in 1966, to end the perceived exploitation of East Pakistan by the West Pakistani rulers. It is considered a milestone on the road to Bangladesh's independence. Background Opposition leaders in East Pakistan called for a national conference on 6 February 1966, to assess the trend of post-Tashkent politics. On 4 February, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, along with some members of the Awami League, reached Lahore to attend the conference. Wari Club Dhaka ( bn, ওয়ারী ক্লাব ঢাকা) is an association football club from Dhaka, Bangladesh. It currently competes in the Bangladesh Championship League (BCL). Wari Club is the oldest football club of Bangladesh, established in 1898. The club's motto is ''One heart one mind''. Hussain Muhammad Ershad ( bn, হুসেইন মুহাম্মদ এরশাদ; 1 February 1930 – 14 July 2019) was a Bangladeshi Army Chief politician who served as the President of Bangladesh from 1983 to 1990, a time many consider to have been a military dictatorship.
