Abdul Karim Solangi
Abdul Karim Solangi (born 1943) is a Pakistani artist known for his work in kinetic sculpture in Pakistan. His sculptures, made from recycled fabric, wastepaper, and plaster, depict village life in Sindh. Career Solangi's interest in art began in his youth, influenced by his family's connection to Sindhi culture and heritage. In 1985, he created a kinetic sculpture depicting a blacksmith and an apprentice. While working in the Sindh education sector, Solangi travelled throughout the province, learning about the culture. This led him to produce artworks, some of which include representations of figures such as Sufi singer Allan Fakir, folk vocalist Jalal Chandio, and musician Misri Khan Jamali. As of 2021, Solangi worked out of his one-room City Museum in Lyari's Moosa Lane, which functioned as both his residence and workspace. Artist
An artist is a person engaged in an activity related to creating art, practicing the arts, or demonstrating an art. The Pride of Performance ( ur, ), officially known as Presidential Pride of Performance, is an award bestowed by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to recognize people with "notable achievements in the field of art, science, literature, sports, and nursing". The Pride of Performance is the highest national literary award of Pakistan conferred upon its citizens and, while it recognizes literary contribution, it can also be conferred upon foreign nationals. It is usually awarded by the president once a year at the Pakistan resolution day, but announcements are made at independence day ceremony held on 14 August. Jalal Chandio
Jalal Chandio ( sd, جلال چانڊيو) was a Sindhi folk singer. He was born in 1944 in the village of Harpal Jo Hat, Misri Wah, near Phul Naushahro Feroze District. He was the only expert of yaktara & Chapri at the time, and his singing style made him popular among Sindh and all of Pakistan. He died on 10 January 2001 due to kidney failure. He got lot of respect in all over Sindh as folk singer due to distinct style of playing folk music and singing.
