Abdul Haleem Chishti
Abdul Halim Chishti Nomani (16 April 1929 – 12 October 2020) was a Pakistani Islamic scholar, librarian, writer and the first PhD in library sciences in Pakistan. He was a disciple of Hussain Ahmad Madani. He was head of the Department of Hadith Studies at Jamia Uloom Islamia and the younger brother of Abdul Rasheed Naumani. Early life and education Abdul Haleem Chishti was born on 16 April 1929 in Jaipur, Rajasthan coinciding Zul Qaida 1347 AH. His father Abdul Rahim was a calligrapher and had memorized the Quran. Abdul Haleem received his early education at Madarsa Taleem ul Islam in Jaipur. In 1940, he entered Jamia Nizamia, in Hyderabad, where he studied Arabic and joined the Munshi Fazil course. He went to Darul Uloom Deoband in 1363 AH for higher education and graduated in 1369 AH; where his teachers included Hussain Ahmad Madani. Jamia Nizamia
Jamia Nizamia more properly, Jami'ah Nizamiyyah, is one of the oldest Islamic seminaries of higher learning for Muslims located in Hyderabad, India. It is named after its founder- the 7th Nizam of Hyderabad. History It was founded by Shaykh al-Islam Imam Muhammad Anwaarullah Farooqui, honorifically known as Fadilat Jung (the title was bestowed upon him by the Nizam), in Hyderabad in 1876. It flourished under the patronage of the Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan. It is located in the Hussaini alam area of today's old city, Hyderabad. Jamia Tur Rasheed
Jamia Tur Rasheed, Karachi ( ur, ) is an Islamic seminary in Karachi, Pakistan. The seminary was established by Rasheed Ahmad Ludhianvi. It is accredited degree awarding institute by Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training and the Higher Education Commission. The seminary has 36 departments including "Kulyatush Shariyah". It also runs female schools including "Jamia Umm Habībah lil-Banāt", "Jamia Hafsa lil-Banāt" and "Al-Bairuni Girls Secondary School". Mufti Abdul Rahim is the current head of the seminary. The seminary co-formed "Majma-ul-Uloom Al-Islamia" (Board of Islamic Sciences) along with Jamia Binoria in May 2021, to reconcile between secular and religious education in the "madrasas". Maulana Habibullah Mukhtar (born; 28 April 1944 – 2 November 1997) ( Urdu: مولانا ڈاکٹر محمد حبیب اللہ مختار) was a Pakistani Islamic scholar and writer who served as chancellor of Jamia Uloom-ul-Islamia and General secretary of Wifaq ul Madaris Al-Arabia, Pakistan. Early life and education Habibullah Mukhtar was born in 1944 to Hakim Mukhtar Hassan Khan in Delhi. At the age of three, he migrated from Delhi to Karachi with his family. He got his early religious education from Darul Uloom Karachi and Dars-i Nizami form Jamia Uloom-ul-Islamia in 1959. In 1966, on the behest of Muhammad Yousuf Banuri he entered to the Islamic University of Madinah and studied there for four years, and returned in 1970. Khatib
In Islam, a khatib, khateeb or hatib ( ar, خطيب ''khaṭīb'') is a person who delivers the sermon (''khuṭbah'') (literally "narration"), during the Friday prayer and Eid prayers. The ''khateeb'' is usually the prayer leader ('' imam''), but the two roles can be played by different people. The khatib should be knowledgeable of how to lead the prayer and be competent in delivering the speech (''khutba'') however there are no requirements of eligibility to become a khatib beyond being an Adult Muslim. Some Muslims believe the khatib has to be male but women do lead Friday prayers in number of places. Women may be khateebahs. Edina Lekovic gave the inaugural khutba at the Women's Mosque in 2015. Liaquat National Library
The Liaquat National Memorial Library is a Government of Sindh funded public library located at the Stadium Road in Karachi, Pakistan. The National Library of Pakistan was established in 1950 as a branch directorate. In the year 1954, the Liaquat Memorial Library was declared a legal depository under the Copyright Law. This library continued to function of the National Library until 1986. Over a short span of few years the library has acquired numerous collections through purchases, copyright deposits, gifts, exchanges, and donations. The library has total holdings of 144,000 volumes (73,000 English and European Languages, 40,000 Oriental Languages). Liaquat Memorial Library has been serving the nation for over fifty years and its collection of over 150,000 reading materials can now be searched online.
