Abdul Baqi Haqqani
Abdul Baqi Haqqani Bashir Mohammad, or Abdul Baqi Haqqani ( ; born ) is an Afghan and senior member of the Taliban. He became acting Higher Education Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan following the Fall of Kabul in August 2021. Childhood Abdul Baqi Haqqani was born in Jalalabad around 1960–1962. Administrative career Islamic Emirate (1996–2001) During the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (1996–2001), Abdul Baqi held positions as governor of Khost and Paktika Provinces and vice-minister of Information and Culture, and worked in the Consulate Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Islamic Emirate (2021–present) In August 2021, following the Fall of Kabul, Abdul Baqi became acting Higher Education Minister. He stated that women had the right to study but that women students would study in separate classrooms to men students. The Kingdom of Afghanistan ( ps, , Dǝ Afġānistān wākmanān; prs, پادشاهی افغانستان, Pādešāhī-ye Afġānistān) was a constitutional monarchy in Central Asia established in 1926 as a successor state to the Emirate of Afghanistan. Paktika Province
Paktika (Pashto/Dari: ) is one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan, located in the eastern part of the country. Forming part of the larger Loya Paktia region, Paktika has a population of about 789,000, mostly ethnic Pashtuns. Khost (Pashto/Dari: ) is one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan, located in the southeastern part of the country. Khost consists of thirteen districts and the city of Khost serves as the capital of the province. To the east, Khost Province is bordered by North Waziristan and Kurram, which are districts in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. On 15 August 2021, Afghanistan's capital city of Kabul was captured by the Taliban after a major insurgent offensive that began in May 2021. This led to the overthrowing of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan under President Ashraf Ghani and the reinstatement of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan under the control of the Taliban.
