Abdul Baqi is an Afghan cricketer. He made his first-class debut for Boost Region in the 2017–18 Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament on 26 October 2017. The following month, in his second match, he took his first five-wicket haul, with figures of 5 wickets for 99 runs. He was the leading wicket-taker for Boost Region in the 2018 Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament, with 36 dismissals in nine matches. He made his List A debut for Boost Region in the 2018 Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One Day Tournament on 13 July 2018. In September 2018, he was named in Kandahar's squad in the first edition of the Afghanistan Premier League tournament. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. Mis Ainak Knights ( ps, مس عينک اتلان ''Mis Ainak Atalān'') or Mis Ainak Region is one of eight regional first-class cricket teams in Afghanistan. The region represents the following provinces in the southeast of Afghanistan, to the south of the capital Kabul: Khost, Logar, Paktia and Paktika. The team is named after Mes Aynak, an archaeological site in Logar Province. Mis Ainak Region compete in the Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament, which has had first-class status from 2017 onwards. 2020 Shpageeza Cricket League
The 2020 Shpageeza Cricket League was the seventh edition of the Shpageeza Cricket League, a professional Twenty20 cricket (T20) league established by the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) in 2013, and the third edition to have official T20 status. Following a request to the Ministry of Public Health due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament was given approval in July 2020 to take place. The ACB also confirmed that it was their priority to run a successful tournament. The tournament was originally scheduled to take place from 13 to 25 September 2020, with the matches being played at the Kabul International Cricket Stadium. However, the tournament was moved forward by one week, to avoid clashing with the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL), which itself had been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. The 2018–19 Afghanistan Premier League (also known as Gulbahar Afghanistan Premier League T20 2018) was the first edition of the Afghanistan Premier League Twenty20 (T20) franchise cricket tournament, held in the United Arab Emirates. It took place between 5 and 21 October 2018 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
