Abduhalim Nazarzoda
Abduhalim Mirzo Nazarzoda was a military leader in the Tajik National Army and the former Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan. Early life He was born in the Guliston village of the Rudaki District of the Tajik SSR on January 1, 1964 to a family of workers. In 1981 he graduated from secondary school No.63 in Dushanbe. After finishing school he worked in a Dushanbe textile factory until 1983. From 1983 to 1985, Nazarzoda served in the Soviet Armed Forces. According to Asia-Plus, between 1993-1997, Nazarzoda was one of the field commanders of the armed formations of the United Tajik Opposition. According to the Ministry of Defense, on September 7, 1997, after signing a peace agreement, Nazarzoda was appointed commander of military unit 31001 of the Tajik National Army. Asia-Plus is a privately owned independent news agency based in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. History and profile Asia-Plus news agency was established in 1995 and started its activity in English language, English and in Russian language, Russian in 1996. It is privately owned and the owner is the Asia Plus Media Group. The agency is based in Dushanbe and started a weekly paper, ''Asia Plus (newspaper), Asia Plus'' in 2000. It also publishes ''Tajikistan Economic Review'', a monthly, and ''Asia-Plus Blitz'', a newsletter published in weekdays. It has an independent political leaning. It has received funds from the National Endowment for Democracy. In June 2012, the website of the agency was cut allegedly by the Tajik authorities. Tajikistan Insurgency
The Tajikistan Insurgency was a military conflict which took place in eastern Tajikistan between the Tajik Army and Islamist militants, led by numerous leaders from the Tajikistani Civil War. The conflict evolved in 2010 and climaxed in 2012, with the defeat of main rebel forces. Other incidents took place in September 2015, when former deputy defense minister Abduhalim Nazarzoda led an armed uprising, suspected of ties to the Islamic Renaissance Party. Insurgency 2010 Rasht Valley offensive On 19 September, more than 25 Tajik soldiers were killed in an ambush by suspected Islamist fighters, allied with the Islamic movement of Uzbekistan. Tajik National University (russian: Таджикский национальный университет; tg, Донишгоҳи Миллии Тоҷикистон, Donishgohi Millii Tojikiston) is the first and largest university in Tajikistan with a total of 23,000 students trained per year in 18 different academic branches.
