Abduction Of The Wizard
''Abduction of the Wizard'' (russian: Похищение чародея, Pokhischeniye charodeya) is a 1989 Soviet science fiction film directed by Viktor Kobzev and based on the novel of the same name by Kir Bulychev. Plot The action takes place in Belarus in the 1980s. The young graduate student Anna comes to her native village to her grandmother's house which she has not visited in 12 years. In the peaceful village she is preparing to write her thesis. Suddenly, two strangers appear in the house and claim that the landlady of this house rented it yesterday to them for two weeks. Events develop and it turns out that strangers got into the twentieth century from the future — the 28th century, with the help of a time machine. Kir Bulychev (russian: Кир Булычёв ''Kir Bulychyov 18 October 1934 – 5 September 2003) is a pen name of Igor Vsevolodovich Mozheiko (И́горь Все́володович Може́йко), a Soviet Russian science fiction writer, critic, translator and historian. His magnum opus is a children's science fiction series ''Alisa Selezneva'', although most of his books are adult-oriented. His books were adapted for film, TV and animation over 20 times – more than any other Russian science fiction author – and Bulychev himself wrote scripts for early adaptations. Biography Mozheiko (Mojeiko) received a Master's degree in 1965 and a Ph.D. in 1981. From 1963 he worked in the Institute of Oriental Studies of the USSR Academy of Sciences. He was a specialist in the medieval history of Burma, and wrote a biography of Aung San. Romualdas Ramanauskas (born 4 February 1950, Vilnius) is a Lithuanian film and theater actor. Biography In 1972 he graduated from the Lithuanian Conservatoire. Sverdlovsk Film Studio (russian: Свердловская Киностудия) is a Russian film studio based in Yekaterinburg (formerly Sverdlovsk). It is a regional studio, that was established on 9 February 1943 in the midst of World War II. In 1944 the studio produced its first film, ''Silva (film), Silva,'' a musical comedy based on the Austrian operetta ''Die Csárdásfürstin, Sylva''.
