Abdallah Al-Jazi
Abdallah Al Jazi (Arabic: عبد الله هارون سحيمان الجازي) was a Jordanian politician and tribal leader of the large Howeitat. He served as Member of the House of Representatives of Jordan from 1997 to 2009, during which he was the Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives of Jordan. He has also been Minister of State. Education Al Jazi graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Cairo University in 1979. Career Minister of State Prior to his term in the Parliament, Al Jazi held various executive positions in the Government of Jordan. Between 1985 and 1987 he was the General Director of Jordan's Hejaz Railway, during which he was elected as the President of the Arab Union of Railways. Thereafter, he held the position of Secretary General of Post and Transport Ministry until he was appointed as the Minister of State in 1994 as part of the Government Cabinet that has signed the famous Israel–Jordan Treaty of Peace at Wadi Araba Crossing. The Parliament of Jordan ( ar, مجلس الأمة ') is the bicameral Jordanian national assembly. Established by the 1952 Constitution, the legislature consists of two houses: the Senate ( ar, مجلس الأعيان ''Majlis Al-Aayan'') and the House of Representatives ( ar, مجلس النواب ''Majlis Al-Nuwaab''). The Senate has 65 members, all of whom are directly appointed by the King, while the House of Representatives has 130 elected members, with nine seats reserved for Christians, three are for Chechen and Circassian minorities, and fifteen for women. Abdullah II Of Jordan
Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein ( ar, عبدالله الثاني بن الحسين , translit=ʿAbd Allāh aṯ-ṯānī ibn al-Ḥusayn; born 30 January 1962) is King of Jordan, having ascended the throne on 7 February 1999. He is a member of the Hashemite dynasty, who have been the reigning royal family of Jordan since 1921, and is considered a 41st-generation direct descendant of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. Abdullah was born in Amman as the first child of King Hussein and his second wife, Princess Muna. As the king's eldest son, Abdullah was heir apparent until Hussein transferred the title to Abdullah's uncle, Prince Hassan, in 1965. Udhruh
Udhruh ( ar, اذرح; transliteration: ''Udhruḥ'', Ancient Greek ''Adrou'', Άδρου), also spelled Adhruh, is a town in southern Jordan, administratively part of the Ma'an Governorate. It is located east of Petra.MacDonald 2015, p. 59. It is the center of the Udhruh Subdistrict. In 2015, the town had a population of 1,700 and the subdistrict had a population of 8,374. Udhruh was inhabited by the Nabateans as early as the 1st century BCE and later became the site of a fortified Roman military camp used as the headquarters of Legio VI Ferrata. Udhruh continued to thrive and by the 6th century was one of the most prosperous towns in Palaestina Tertia. It submitted to the Islamic prophet Muhammad in 631. 2003 Jordanian General Election
General elections were held in Jordan on 17 June 2003. They were the fourth contest held after the political liberalization started in 1989 and the first elections to take place since 1997. The number of voters who cast their ballots constituted almost 58.8 percent of registered voters, a record high in the last years, who total 2,325,496 of the country's 5.4 million citizens. The Kingdom's most prominent tribal representatives carried a large majority of the seats.
