George Abbotts
George Abbotts or Abbot (1602–1645) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons between 1640 and 1645. Biography Abbotts was born in Middlesex, the son of Sir Maurice Abbot(ts). He matriculated at Balliol College, Oxford on 15 October 1619, aged 17 and was awarded BA on 28 February 1622. In 1622 he became a fellow of Merton College, Oxford and was awarded M.A. on 20 May 1625. He was incorporated at Cambridge University in 1627 and was awarded B.C.L. on 16 November 1630. In April 1640, Abbotts was elected Member of Parliament for Guildford in the Short Parliament and supported the Parliamentary (Roundhead) cause. Abbotts, Western Australia
Abbotts is an abandoned town in Western Australia located in the Murchison Goldfields region of Western Australia and north-west of Meekatharra on the MeekatharraMount Clere Road. The townsite was initially established in 1898 and gazetted in 1900, and is named after a prospector named Vincent Vrauizan who had changed his name to Vincent Abbott in 1893. One of the earliest mines to open was the Black Iguana. In 1895 the Black Iguana and the Abbotts mine were both operating ten head stamp mills in the town for processing ore. Abbotts Moss Nature Reserve
Abbotts Moss is a nature reserve near Delamere Forest, northwest of Winsford, Cheshire. It is managed by the Cheshire Wildlife Trust under lease from the Forestry Commission and lies within a larger Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The reserve is south of the A556 road near Sandiway and is divided in two by the Whitegate Way, a former railway line now used as a footpath and bridleway. Notability and key species The SSSI citation notes that the site is an acidic wetland of particular importance because of two mature '' Schwingmoors'', namely South Moss and Shemmy Moss. Abbotts Lagoon is a lagoon on the northwestern coast of the Point Reyes National Seashore, southwest of Tomales Point, in California, United States. The inland portion of the lagoon receives freshwater runoff, but the lagoon may be brackish from occasional winter tidal exchange along its western edge. Abbotts Hall Farm is a 282 hectare nature reserve in Great Wigborough in Essex. It is the head office of the Essex Wildlife Trust, which manages the site. It is also part of the Blackwater Estuary National Nature Reserve, Site of Special Scientific Interest, Ramsar site, Special Protection Area and Special Area of Conservation, It is an important archaeological site, and includes a Scheduled Monument, Great Wigborough henge. Abbotts Creek starts in Kernersville, NC in Forsyth County and becomes High Rock Lake near Lexington, NC in Davidson County just north of Hwy 47. The section of High Rock Lake that is officially Abbotts Creeks ends near the Hwy 8 causeway, in Southmont, NC. The median flow at Lexington ranges from 50 to 200 cubic feet per second. While it only provides a relatively small amount of water that enters the lake, it provides a significant fraction of the total surface area of the lake and hosts a large community of lake front homes, as well as provides significant habitat for fish and wildlife. The upper sections of the lake at Abbotts Creek do not have lake front properties and are considered prime area for sports fishing, particularly largemouth bass and catfish. The lake, up to the high water mark is under the control of Alcoa and is managed under contract granted by the US government.
