Abba River is a locality in Western Australia's South West region in the local government area of the City of Busselton. At the 2021 census, it had a population of 83. It was established as a bounded locality in 1987 and named after the nearby river with the same name. The river was named in 1834 by Frederick Ludlow. Vasse is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in Western Australia. Vasse is based in the South West region of the state, centred on the town of Busselton and is named for the Vasse River. It has been a safe seat for the Liberal Party at all times since its creation, including as its previous incarnation, Sussex. The City of Busselton is a local government area in the South West region of Western Australia, approximately south of Perth, the state capital. The city covers an area of and had a population of 40,640 as at the 2021 Census. It contains two large towns, Busselton and Dunsborough, and a number of smaller towns. 2021 Australian Census
The 2021 Australian census, simply called the 2021 Census, was the eighteenth national Census of Population and Housing in Australia. The 2021 Census took place on 10 August 2021, and was conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). The total population of the Commonwealth of Australia was counted as 25,422,788 – an increase of 8.6 per cent or 2,020,896 people over the previous 2016 census. Frederick Ludlow
Frederick Ludlow (born 1796, date of death unknown) was an early colonial settler in Western Australia. He is credited with the discovery of the Capel River. Frederick Ludlow was born in 1796. In 1828, he and his wife Mildred ("Kitty") emigrated to Western Australia as servants of Captain Mark John Currie, arriving in Perth on board the ''Parmelia'' in June 1829. In April 1830, Ludlow joined a group including the Molloys and the Bussells in forming a new settlement at Augusta. The following year, Ludlow walked from Augusta to Perth in company with John Kellam and John Welburn. Although much undiscovered land would have been traversed, no journal was kept so no discoveries were attributed to the men. In June 1834, Ludlow made the same journey, this time on his own. Ludlow kept a journal of his travels, and was consequently credited with the discovery of much new land.
