Banco Etcheverría was a Spanish bank. The family-owned bank was the oldest in the Spain, Spanish financial system, and the 11th oldest surviving bank in the world, older by over half a century than the Bank of Spain itself. It was founded in Betanzos, A Coruña (Spain) in 1717 by Juan Etcheverry (née Jean d’Etcheverry), a France, French businessman and tannery owner who had settled in Galicia (Spain), Galicia. His family inherited and continued the bank business through generations; the primitive Etcheverry transformed the surname to Etcheverría to adapt to Spanish spelling (although the standard Spanish spelling is now Echeverría). The name comes from the Basque language, Basque surname Etxeberria, meaning "new house". In 1964 it became a S.A. (corporation), ''sociedad anónima''. Its current stockholders (Francisco Javier, Asunción, María Cruz and Magdalena Etcheverría de la Muela) are all from the Etcheverría family, except the Caixa Galicia savings bank, which bough ...

A Banca (Portuguese for "''The Stand''") was a very short-lived Brazilian alternative rock band from Santos, São Paulo, composed mostly by former Charlie Brown Jr. members and described as a "spiritual successor" of it. History Following the break-up of Charlie Brown Jr., caused by the death of vocalist Chorão due to a cocaine overdose on March 6, 2013, the remaining members of the band (guitarists Thiago Castanho and Marcão, drummer Bruno Graveto and bassist Champignon) decided to form a new musical project that would serve as a tribute act both to Charlie Brown Jr. and Chorão, dubbing it "A Banca" (literally translated to English as "The Stand") in allusion to a Brazilian street slang referring to a gathering of friends – i.e., "Charlie Brown Jr.'s friends". (Coincidentally, "A Banca" is also the name of a song by Charlie Brown Jr. from their 2000 album ''Nadando com os Tubarões''.)
