Abana, Kastamonu
Abana is a town and district of the Kastamonu Province in the Black Sea region of Turkey. It is to the north-east of the province, on the shore of the Black Sea. According to the 2010 census, population of the district is 3583 of which 2,872 live in the town of Abana. The district covers an area of , and the highest elevation is . Abana's coastline is 11 km long, of which 7 km is a natural sand beach, making the district a popular summer resort for the region. Abana (barque)
The ''Abana'' was a sailing barque wrecked at Blackpool in England on 22 December 1894. History ''Abana'' was built at Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada in 1874. She was originally homeported at Saint John, New Brunswick. By 1894, she was flying the Norwegian flag. Loss The ''Abana'' was sailing from Liverpool to Savannah, Georgia when she was caught in a storm in the Irish Sea. She was spotted at 3 pm drifting in a northwesterly direction with her sails torn to shreds. The crew mistook Blackpool Tower for a lighthouse and the ship was first spotted foundering at North Pier, and ended up drifting north and was wrecked off Little Bispham at 5 pm. Flares were fired and the lifeboat was called out. The alarm was raised by the landlord of the Cleveleys Hotel. Due to the weather conditions, the Blackpool lifeboat ''Samuel Fletcher'' had to be taken some overland to Bispham before it could be launched. Sharpshooter (insect)
The name sharpshooter is used to refer to any of various genera and species of large leafhoppers in the tribe Proconiini of the family Cicadellidae. As with all cicadellids, they have piercing-sucking mouthparts and closely spaced rows of fine spines on their hind legs. The nymphs feed by inserting their needle-like mouthparts into the xylem of the small stems on the plant where the eggs were deposited; the adults have wings and are highly mobile, and most feed on a variety of different plant species. Both nymphs and adults filter a huge volume of dilute liquid through their digestive system to extract the trace nutrients, and much of the water and carbohydrates are squirted forcibly away from the body in a fine stream of droplets, thus earning them their common name. The Artist-Blacksmith's Association of North America (ABANA) was formed in 1973 to preserve and promote blacksmithing as an art and a craft. Mission statement The ABANA mission statement reads: We understand that a blacksmith is one who shapes and forges iron with hammer and anvil. The artist- blacksmith does this so as to unite the functional with the aesthetic, realizing that the two are inseparable. We the members of the Artist-Blacksmiths' Association of North America do join in our resolve to perpetuate the noble art of blacksmithing. Abana Ba Nasery was a musical group from Kenya. The group was led by Shem Tube (vocals & guitar), backed by Justo Osala (guitar) and Enos Okola (percussion). The group came from Bunyore, Western Province. The group existed in the 1960s and 70s before disbanding. Afterwards Tube and Osala formed a new group ''Les Bunyore''.Allmusic Abana Ba Nasery/ref> In 1989 the Globe Style label released internationally a compilation CD ''Classic Acoustic Recordings from Western Kenya'', containing Abana Ba Nasery's songs from the 60s and early 70s. Hisseine Abana (born 25 June 1983) is a former Chadian professional football player. He made 15 appearances for the Chad national football team. Career Abana started his career in Chadian club Renaissance. He later moved to France, and played for FC Petit Bard in Montpellier. Abana made his first appearance for the Chad on 25 September 1997, in a match against Bahrain, in a friendly international football tournament held in Tripoli, Libya. He scored his first goal for the national team against Congo on 2 August 1998. He scored his other 2 goals on UNIFAC Cup in 1999 in Gabon. He played 15 matches total for the national team.
