Katatonia
Katatonia are a Swedish heavy metal band formed in Stockholm in 1991 by Jonas Renkse and Anders Nyström. The band started as a studio-only project for the duo, as an outlet for the band's love of death metal. Increasing popularity led them to add more band members for live performances, though outside of the band's founders, the lineup was a constantly changing, revolving door of musicians throughout the 1990s, notably including Mikael Åkerfeldt of the band Opeth for a period. After two death/doom albums, ''Dance of December Souls'' (1993) and ''Brave Murder Day'' (1996), problems with Renkse's vocal cords coupled with new musical influences led the band away from the screamed vocals of death metal to a more traditional, melodic form of heavy metal music. The band released two more albums, ''Discouraged Ones'' (1998) and ''Tonight's Decision'' (1999), before settling into a stable quintet lineup for all of the 2000s. The band released four more albums with said lineup: ''L ...

Loch Vostok
Loch Vostok is a progressive metal band from Uppsala, Sweden. Named after a subterranean lake in Antarctica, it rose from collapse of progressive metal band Mayadome in 2001. Bringing along keyboardist Sebastian Okupski and bass player Erik Grandin and new recruits guitarist Niklas Kupper and drummer Alvaro Svanerö, Möller switched roles from drums to lead singer and guitarist for the new band. However Grandin couldn't relocate to the United States and was replaced by Tomas "Tym" Jonsson. Möller had played with him previously in Mellow Poetry. Loch Vostok recorded a self-financed album with producer Daniel Bergstrand in 2002. The result was ''Dark Logic''. An album where the lyrics were entirely based upon infamous serial killers such as Henry Lee Lucas, Andrei Chikatilo and Ed Gein. The Russian distributor "CD-Maximum" was the first to pick ...

Nevermore
Nevermore was an American heavy metal band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 1991. The band has been inactive since 2011, due to personal issues between the band members. In April 2015, lead singer Warrel Dane confirmed that Nevermore had not disbanded, and there was a possibility for them to continue in the next two years with another album. However, Dane died in December 2017, ending hopes of a reunion. History Early years (1992–1993) Nevermore started in the beginning of the 1990s, when the band Sanctuary was pressured by its recording label to change its musical style, switching from heavy metal to grunge, which was obtaining mainstream success at the time due to bands such as Nirvana and Pearl Jam (both, incidentally, also from Seattle). Two members of the band – vocalist Warrel Dane and bassist Jim Sheppard — did not agree with the change, and thus proceeded to create a project of their own: Nevermore. ''Nevermore'', ''In Memory'' and ''The Politics of Ecstas ...
