''Aasal'' () () is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film directed by Saran. The film stars Ajith Kumar in the lead role, who is also credited for the story, dialogues, screenplay and co-direction of the film, while Sameera Reddy and Bhavana play the lead female roles. The film has an extensive cast, with Prabhu, Pradeep Rawat, Sampath Raj and Rajiv Krishna playing prominent roles, among others. Ajith Kumar (born 1 May 1971) is an Indian actor who works predominantly in Tamil films. To date, he has starred in over 60 films. K. V. Saravanan, better known as Saran, is an Indian film director active mainly in Tamil cinema. He was once an assistant to K. Balachander. He owns production house called ''Gemini Productions.'' Early life Saran's father T. Kulandaivelayudam worked with the directorate of examinations and many of his relatives are teachers. Rajiv Krishna is an Indian actor from Bangalore. He has appeared in Tamil films in leading and supporting roles. He also wrote the screenplay for the Hindi films ''Woodstock Villa'' and ''Soundtrack''. He is the nephew of producer Suresh Menon. Karthika Menon, better known by her stage name Bhavana, is an Indian actress who predominantly appears in Malayalam and Kannada films, and has also appeared in some Tamil and Telugu films.
