Aaron Taylor (footballer)
Aaron Mark Taylor is an English professional football striker. He currently plays for Bamber Bridge F.C. having previously been at Morecambe. Taylor was signed from the academy and made his debut as a sub in Morecambe's 2–2 draw with Chesterfield. He made his full debut against Rochdale on 18 October 2008 and marked his full debut with a goal. He regularly featured in Sammy McIlroys side. He then went on to start the FA Cup game against Grimsby in the 1st round. He scored twice and was named man of the match to continue fulfilling his shown potential. He joined Barrow on a five-week loan at the start of the 2009/10 season before returning to Morecambe. He was released by Morecambe in May 2010. He signed for Kendal Town, before switching to Witton Albion on 22 October 2010. Morecambe ( ) is a seaside town and civil parish in the City of Lancaster district in Lancashire, England. It is in Morecambe Bay on the Irish Sea. Name The first use of the name was by John Whitaker in his ''History of Manchester'' (1771), when he refers to the "æstury of Moricambe". It next appears four years later in ''Antiquities of Furness'', where the bay is described as "the Bay of Morecambe". That name is derived from the Roman name ''Moriancabris Æsturis'' shown on maps prepared for them by ''Claudius Ptolemœus'' (Ptolemy) from his original Greek maps. At this distance in time it is impossible to say if the name was originally derived from an earlier language (e.g. Celtic language) or from Greek. Sammy McIlroy
Samuel Baxter McIlroy (born 2 August 1954) is a Northern Irish retired footballer who played for Manchester United, Stoke City, Manchester City, Örgryte (Sweden), Bury, VfB Mödling (Austria), Preston North End and the Northern Ireland national team. After playing, he managed several English football teams and the Northern Ireland national team, gaining most success with Macclesfield Town. He was most recently the manager of Football League Two side Morecambe, which he helped guide to the English Football League for the first time in their history. Club career McIlroy was born in Belfast and moved to English club Manchester United in 1969 becoming Matt Busby's final signing.
