Aaron Goldsmith (musician)
Aaron Goldsmith (born August 29, 1983, in Wichita, Kansas) is an American sportscaster who does lead play-by-play on selected games for Root Sports Northwest during the Seattle Mariners baseball season. In the off-season, he provides play-by-play for Pac-12 basketball on Fox Sports 1. Early years Goldsmith was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He obtained a History degree from Principia College in Elsah, Illinois. Career Upon graduation, Goldsmith began play-by-play broadcasting as an intern for Gateway Grizzlies games. In 2007, Goldsmith provided 2-innings of play-by-play for each home game. Goldsmith followed this up with an unpaid internship with the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod Baseball League, and then a similar position with the Portland Sea Dogs. In all cases, Goldsmith called select games or innings. Goldsmith often found himself starving after calling games. The Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL or Cape League) is a collegiate summer baseball wooden bat league located on Cape Cod in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. Aqib Talib (born February 13, 1986) is a former American football cornerback. He played college football at the University of Kansas, where he received consensus All-American honors, and was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft. Augustus Cornelius Johnson Jr. (born ) is an American sportscaster. He is the lead play-by-play announcer for Fox Sports calling college football and college basketball. Eric Nadel (born May 16, 1951) is a sports announcer on radio broadcasts for the Texas Rangers (baseball), Texas Rangers baseball organization. In 2014, he was honored with the Ford C. Frick Award for broadcasting excellence by the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Vin Scully
Vincent Edward Scully (November 29, 1927 – August 2, 2022) was an American sportscaster. He was best known for his 67 seasons calling games for Major League Baseball's Los Angeles Dodgers, beginning in 1950 (when the franchise was located in Brooklyn) and ending in 2016. Scully's tenure with the Dodgers was the longest of any broadcaster with a single team in professional sports history, and he was second only to Tommy Lasorda (by two years) in terms of number of years associated with the Dodgers organization in any capacity. He retired at age 88 in 2016, ending his record-breaking run as the team's play-by-play announcer. Rick Rizzs (born November 17, 1953) is an American sportscaster and is the lead radio voice for Major League Baseball's Seattle Mariners. Early life and career Rizzs is from Blue Island, Illinois, where he attended Eisenhower High School, and he is a 1975 graduate of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. From 1975 to 1980, he handled baseball play-by-play duties at the double-A level for Alexandria, Louisiana, Amarillo, Texas and Memphis, Tennessee. He became the sports director at WBNS radio in Columbus, Ohio in 1981, where he called Ohio State football and triple-A baseball for two seasons.
