Aaron Crawford (American Football)
Aaron Crawford (born November 4, 1997) is an American football nose tackle for the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at North Carolina. High school career Crawford attended Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, Virginia. As a sophomore, he helped his team reach the 2012 Virginia AAA Division 5 title game. Considered a three-star prospect by 247 Sports, Crawford committed to North Carolina over offers from Virginia and Boston College. College career Crawford was sidelined with a knee injury after two games as a true freshman, forcing him to redshirt. He made 10 starts for North Carolina as a redshirt freshman. As a sophomore, he started all 12 games and had 29 tackles including 5.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks and a fumble recovery. Nose Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach. The Boston College Eagles football team represents Boston College in the sport of American football. The Eagles compete in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as a member of the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).
