Aaron Brooks (American Football)
Aaron Lafette Brooks (born March 24, 1976) is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for eight seasons, primarily with the New Orleans Saints. He played college football at Virginia and was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the fourth round of the 1999 NFL Draft. After one season with the Packers, he was a member of the Saints for six seasons, where he led the franchise to their first playoff victory in 2000 against the defending Super Bowl champion St. Louis Rams. Brooks also became the first NFL quarterback to eliminate the defending Super Bowl champions in his first career postseason start. During his final season, he played for the Oakland Raiders. Brooks retired in 2007 as the Saints' leader in season and career touchdown passes. For his accomplishments with the franchise, he was inducted to the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame in 2014. Aaron Lee Brooks (born April 27, 1990) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the San Diego Padres organization. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Kansas City Royals, Oakland Athletics, Baltimore Orioles, and St. Louis Cardinals, and in the KBO League for the Kia Tigers. Early years Brooks attended Cajon High School in San Bernardino, California, and California State University, San Bernardino, where he played college baseball for the Cal State San Bernardino Coyotes. Professional career Kansas City Royals The Kansas City Royals selected Brooks in the ninth round of the 2011 MLB draft. Through the 2013 season, Brooks had issued only 1.3 walks per nine innings pitched in total innings. The Royals invited Brooks to spring training in 2014. Aaron Jamal Brooks (born January 14, 1985) is an American professional basketball coach and former player who is a two-way liaison for the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and an assistant coach for the Westchester Knicks of the NBA G League. He was selected 26th overall in the 2007 NBA draft. Brooks won the NBA Most Improved Player Award for the 2009–10 season. High school career Brooks, a high-profile recruit out of Franklin High School in Seattle, "earned just about every honor possible" while leading his team to the Washington 4A State Championship as a senior. Aaron Brooks (born June 15, 2000) is an American freestyle and folkstyle wrestler who competes internationally at 86 kilograms and collegiately at 184 pounds. In freestyle, he is a Cadet World Champion and Junior World Championship silver medalist. As a collegiate wrestler, Brooks is a three-time NCAA champion and a three-time B1G Conference champion out of the Pennsylvania State University. As of May 25, 2022, Brooks is the top-ranked 184-pound NCAA wrestler in the country as per Intermat. Folkstyle career High school Brooks was born in Hagerstown, Maryland and attended North Hagerstown High School.
