Aarilirunthu Arubathu Varai
''Aarilirunthu Arubathu Varai'' () is a 1979 Tamil language, Tamil-language Drama (film and television), drama film, directed by S. P. Muthuraman, starring Rajinikanth. The film was written and produced by Panju Arunachalam under P. A. Arts Productions. The cast also included Thilak, Cho Ramaswamy, Cho, Thengai Srinivasan, Thengai Seenivasan, Phataphat Jayalaxmi, Jayalakshmi, Sangeeta, Jaya Guhanathan, Jaya and Mallika. Soundtrack for the film was composed by Ilaiyaraaja. The movie is a portrayal of the life of Santhanam (Rajinikanth), the eldest son of a poor widow who struggles to make ends meet. He spends the first half of his life toiling day and night to provide his younger siblings an education and spends second half watching them leading comfortable lives, while he continues his struggle for survival. Panchu Arunachalam
Panchanathan Arunachalam (22 March 1941 – 9 August 2016) was an Indian writer, director, producer and lyricist who worked in Tamil cinema. He was mentored by poet Kannadasan who was his uncle. He also worked as a lyricist in the Tamil cinema industry. He started producing films under his production banner named P. A. Arts. His son Subbu Panchu Arunachalam is an actor and dubbing artist in the Tamil film industry. Career In 2004, Panchu Arunachalam opted to return to work as a director and planned a film titled ''Ganesha'' with Cheran in the lead role. However, the film eventually did not materialise. Suruli Rajan
Suruli Rajan was a Tamil film comedian/character artiste. He was a recipient of Tamil Nadu State Government's Best Comedian Award for the year 1981–82. Biography Suruli Rajan was born in 1938 in Periyakulam, near Theni. His father ''Ponnaiya Pillai'' worked as an accountant for farm owners of the adjoining areas in Theni. The child was named after the Surulivelar Swamy, the family deity at the temple atop a hill graced by the picturesque Suruli Falls. Suruli Rajan lost his parents one after the other, and had to discontinue his schooling. He moved to his brother's house in Madurai and worked as an apprentice mechanic in a neighbourhood workshop. ''Bhuvana Oru Kelvi Kuri'' () is a 1977 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by S. P. Muthuraman and written by Panchu Arunachalam. It is based on the novel of the same name by Maharishi. The film stars Sivakumar, Rajinikanth and Sumithra. It focuses on two friends with conflicting characters and their conflicting lives. ''Bhuvana Oru Kelvi Kuri'' was notable for casting Rajinikanth and Sivakumar as a hero and antihero respectively, contrary to the roles they played in earlier films. Kalthoon Thilak
Thilak Raj (April 5, 1943 – May 7, 2021) was an Indian actor. Also known as Kalthoon Thilak, he was known for playing supporting roles in Tamil films as an antagonist. His breakthrough performance came in the film, '' Kalthoon'' (1981), following which he adapted the film's title in his stagename. Career Thilak began his career in the Tamil film industry as an assistant editor at AVM Studios and had worked on 24 films.
