Aarambham
''Aarambham'' is a 1982 Indian Malayalam film, written by Cochin Haneefa, directed by Joshiy and produced by Thiruppathi Chettiyar. with an ensemble cast starring Prem Nazir, Madhu, Sukumaran, M. G. Soman, K. P. Ummer, Srividya, Sumalatha and Rajalakshmi. The film has a musical score by unusually using four music directors, namely Shyam, A. T. Ummer, K. J. Joy and Shankar–Ganesh, each of whom directed one song each. The cinematography was handled by N. A. Thara, while editing was done by K. Sankunni. ''Aarambham'' was released in theatres on 1 September 1982 on the occasion of Onam. Upon release, the film received highly positive reviews from critics. The film was a super hit, even as it faced stiff competition from the high budget Prem Nazir starrer '' Padayottam''. The film was a breakthrough for Joshiy. Joshiy
Joshiy (born 18 July 1952) is an Indian film director and producer from Varkala in Kerala who works predominantly in the Malayalam film industry. He made his debut with ''Tiger Salim'' (1978) and has directed over 80 films. He has also directed a few Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films. In the beginning of his career, he received national fame when he directed ''Dharm Aur Qanoon'' (1984) starring Rajesh Khanna and Dharmendra, with Khanna in double roles. ''Dharm Aur Qanoon'' (transl. ''Religion and Law'') is a 1984 crime thriller film starring Rajesh Khanna, Dharmendra, Vinod Mehra, Jaya Prada, Asha Parekh and Danny Denzongpa, with Supriya Pathak, Manmohan Krishna, Iftekhar and Om Shivpuri in the supporting roles. Muhammed Haneefa (22 April 1951 – 2 February 2010), better known by his stage name Cochin Haneefa, was an Indian actor, film director, and screenwriter. He started his career in the 1970s mainly portraying villainous roles, before going on to become one of the most popular comedians of Malayalam cinema. Prathapachandran (1941–2004) was an Indian actor, who worked predominantly in Malayalam film, Malayalam film industry, though he acted in a few Tamil and Telugu movies as well. He known for the portrayal of villainous and character roles in over 300 movies. Chandrashekaran Menon, better known by his screen name Sankaradi (14 July 1924 – 8 October 2001), was an Indian actor. He was a veteran Malayalam comedian and character artist, who had over 700 Malayalam films to his credit. He dominated the Malayalam film scene in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s as a comedian along with Adoor Bhasi and Bahadoor. Later, he switched to character roles. Shankar–Ganesh is an Indian music director duo who has worked on Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada movies for around 50 years. Career They started as assistants to Tamil music composers M. S. Viswanathan and T. K. Ramamoorthy in 1964 and later the duo assisted M.S.Viswanathan alone from 1965 till 1967.
