Jacob Aagaard
Jacob Aagaard (born 31 July 1973) is a Danish-Scottish chess grandmaster and the 2007 British Chess Champion. He is Scotland's third-highest rated player as of July 2021, with an Elo rating of 2477. His peak rating was 2542. In 2004, he took second place in the Scottish Chess Championship. In 2005, he took first place in the Scottish Championship but was not a British citizen, so the title went to Craig Pritchett. In 2012 he won the title; the first time he played and was eligible to win it. He is also a chess author and co-owner of Quality Chess, a chess publishing house. In 2011, Aagaard was awarded the title of FIDE Senior Trainer. In 2012, Aagaard won the Scottish Chess Championships with a score of 7/9. Gunnar Aagaard Andersen
Gunnar Aagaard Andersen (14 July 1919 – 29 June 1982) was a Danish sculptor, painter, designer and architect whose work belongs to the Concrete art movement. Early life and education Born in Ordrup to the north of Copenhagen, Aagaard Andersen attended the Arts and Crafts School (Kunsthåndværkersole) from 1936 to 1939. Between 1940 and 1946, he studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts under Aksel Jørgensen and Gunnar Biilmann Petersen. He also spent a short period studying etching at the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts. From 1946 to 1950, he studied in Paris under the sculptor Ossip Zadkine, after which he travelled to Italy (1951) and England (1952–53). Career Aagaard Andersen first exhibited at the Kunstnernes Efterårsudstilling (Artists Autumn Exhibition) in 1937. Initially he created mainly drawings and sketches but he also painted. Martin Aagaard
Zacharias Martin Aagaard (13 October 1863 – 6 December 1913) was a Norwegian painter who specialized in marine painting. Early life Zackarias Martini Aagaard was born in Levanger in Nord-Trøndelag county, Norway. He was educated at Trondheim Technical School and the Royal Drawing School (now Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry) in Oslo. He was a student of Harriet Backer and Knud Bergslien, and he apprenticed for a time with Christian Krohg. He spent time researching locations in Lofoten and Finnmark. He exhibited his works from 1898 in Bergen. He exhibited at the Exposition Universelle (1900). Several of his paintings were executed in large dimensions. Just Michael Aagaard
Just Michael Aagaard (17 July 1757 – 7 October 1819) was a Danish merchant and '' konditori''-owner in Copenhagen. He served as chair of the Council of 32 Men (later to become the Copenhagen City Council) and was director of Kjøbenhavns Brandforsikring (Copenhagen Fire Insurance). He was the father of Holger Halling Aagaard and owned Iselingen at Vordingborg from 1806. Mikkel Aagaard (born 18 October 1995) is a Danish professional ice hockey forward who is currently playing with MoDo Hockey of the HockeyAllsvenskan (Allsv). Playing career Undrafted, Aagaard played in his native Denmark with Frederikshavn White Hawks before moving to North America to play major junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League with the Niagara IceDogs and the Sudbury Wolves. Jane Lesley Aagaard (born 1956) is a former Australian politician. She was a Labor Party member of the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly from 2001 to 2012, representing the Darwin-based electorate of Nightcliff. Gudrun Stig Aagaard (1895–1986) was a Danish textile artist who specialized in printed fabrics. She opened her own workshop in 1928, pioneering printed textile designs in Denmark. She initially produced classical patterns but later adopted a more abstract approach in her creations for L.F. Foght. For over 50 years, she collaborated with Haandarbejdets Fremme.
