It was entered into the 6th Moscow International Film Festival where Irina Petrescu won the award for Best Actress. Gheorghe Vitanidis (1 October 1929 – 25 November 1994) was a Romanian film director. He directed 19 films between 1958 and 1987. Nicolae Breban (; born February 1, 1934, in Baia Mare, Maramureș County, Transylvania, Socialist Republic of Romania) is a Romanian novelist and essayist of partial German descent. Biography He is the son of Vasile Breban, a Greek Catholic priest in the village of Recea, Maramureș County. His mother, Olga Constanţa Esthera Breban, born Böhmler, descended from a family of German merchants who emigrated from Alsace-Lorraine. In 1951, he was expelled from school on account of his social origin when in the penultimate year at the „Coriolan Brediceanu” High School in Lugoj. He worked as an office clerk in Oradea, and finally passed the graduation exams at the „Oltea Doamna” High School. As he intended to study at the Polytechnical Institute, he had to work first as an apprentice at the "23 August” Works in Bucharest. Irina Carmen Petrescu (19 June 1941 – 19 March 2013) was a Romanian film actress. She appeared in 29 films between 1959 and 2010. She won the award for Best Actress at the 6th Moscow International Film Festival for her role in the 1969 film ''A Woman for a Season''. Early life and career She was born in 1941 in Bucharest, the daughter of Constantin and Elena Petrescu. She graduated from the Institute of Theatre and Film I.L. Caragiale, class of 1963, under the guidance of teachers and David Esrig. Irina Petrescu was noticed one day by director , who came to her table in the ''Continental'' restaurant and asked her to audition for his film. Iurie Darie (; 14 March 1929 – 9 November 2012) was a Romanian actor. Biography He was born in Vadul-Rașcov, Soroca County, Kingdom of Romania. He studied at the Academy of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography in Bucharest, graduating in 1952. He made his film debut in 1953, playing Miron in ''The Bugler's Grandsons''. In 2002, Darie received the National Order of Faithful Service with the rank of Knight for his prestigious artistic career. During his last years Darie suffered from several health problems, including respiratory and cardiac insufficiency and also a stroke. He died on 9 November 2012, aged 83, in Bucharest, surrounded by his family. He was buried in the city's Sfânta Vineri Cemetery.
