''A Sold Life'' ( it, Una vita venduta) is a 1976 Italian war-drama film written and directed by Aldo Florio and starring Enrico Maria Salerno and Gerardo Amato. It is loosely based on the novella ''L'antimonio'' by Leonardo Sciascia. For his performance in this film Gerardo Amato won the Grolla d'oro for best new actor. Enrico Maria Salerno
Enrico Maria Salerno (September 18, 1926 – February 28, 1994) was an Italian actor, voice actor and film director. He was also the voice of Clint Eastwood in the Italian version of Sergio Leone's Dollars Trilogy films, and the voice of Christ in '' The Gospel According to St. Matthew'' directed by Pier Paolo Pasolini. Biography Enrico Maria Salerno was born in Milan on 18 September 1926, son of Antonino Salerno, an Italian lawyer originally from Erice (in province of Trapani, Sicily) and Milka Storff, a Yugoslav violinist. At only 17, he joined the Italian Social Republic as an officer of the Republican National Guard at the AA.UU. "Varese". Rik Battaglia
Rik Battaglia (byname of Caterino Bertaglia; 18 February 1927 – 27 March 2015) was an Italian film actor. He was born at Corbola, near Rovigo, Veneto. He mainly used the stage name of Rik Battaglia although alternate names he used for his films included Rick Austin, Riccardo Battaglia and Rick Battaglia. He would go on to appear in over 100 films from the 1955 to 1999. Biography He went to sea at the age of 17 and worked on a freighter. He was discovered in a bar and producer Carlo Ponti hired him on the spot and signed to his first film in 1955's '' The River Girl'', directed by Mario Soldati and opposite Sophia Loren, playing a cigarette smuggler who has a tempestuous love affair with a young and sexy Sophia Loren (Ponti's wife). Andrea Aureli
Andrea Aureli (5 March 1923 – 5 November 2007) was an Italian actor. Life and career Born in Terni, Aureli graduated from the Liceo classico in his hometown, then he enrolled the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, graduating in 1947. Since the early 1950s he began an intense career as a character actor, being often cast in roles of villains and antagonists. In genre films, he was sometimes credited with the stage name Andrew Ray. He was also active in television films and series. Aureli retired from acting in 1998 and died in Rome on 5 November 2007 at 84 years old. His son Marco is a camera operator and an occasional actor.
