Pierantonio Tasca
Pierantonio Tasca (1858–1934) was an Italian opera composer. His first opera, ''Bianca'', premiered in 1885, to a libretto by Enrico Golisciani. Eva Tetrazzini, elder sister of the famous Luisa Tetrazzini participated in the premiere. His next operas, '' A Santa Lucia'' (1892) and ''Pergolesi'' (1898), had successful premieres in Berlin. The libretto for ''A Santa Lucia'' was written by Enrico Golisciani, based on the book ''Scene popolari napoletane'' (1889) by Goffredo Cognetti (Napoli 1855-Castiglioncello, Livorno 1943). The score was published by Galletti e Cocci (Florence) in 1892. ''Pergolesi'' was based on a libretto by Eugenio Chécchi (Livorno 1838 - Roma 1932). Enrico Golisciani
Enrico Golisciani (25 December 1848 – 6 February 1919) was an Italian author, born in Naples. He is best known for his opera librettos, but also published a slim volume of verses for music, entitled ''Pagine d'Album'' (Milano, Ricordi, 1885); many more of his poems intended to be set to music were published in the '' Gazzetta Musicale di Milano''. Kroll Opera
The Kroll Opera House (german: Krolloper, Kroll-Oper) in Berlin, Germany, was in the Tiergarten district on the western edge of the '' Königsplatz'' square (today ''Platz der Republik''), facing the Reichstag building. It was built in 1844 as an entertainment venue for the restaurant owner Joseph Kroll, and redeveloped as an opera house in 1851. It also served as the assembly hall of the Reichstag from 1933 to 1942. Severely damaged by the bombing of Berlin in World War II and the Battle of Berlin, it was demolished in 1951. Gemma Bellincioni
Gemma Bellincioni (born Matilda Cesira Bellincioni) (; 18 August 1864 – 23 April 1950) was an Italian soprano and one of the best-known opera singers of the late 19th century. She had a particular affinity with the verismo repertoire and was renowned more for her charismatic acting than for the quality of her voice. Roberto Stagno
Roberto Stagno (; 18 October 1840 ome sources give 1836 as his birth year – 26 April 1897) was a prominent Italian opera tenor. He became an important interpreter of verismo music when it burst on to the operatic scene during the 1890s; but he also possessed an agile bel canto technique which he employed in operas dating from earlier periods. In 1890, he created the pivotal verismo role of Turiddu. Career Stagno (real name Vincenzo Andrioli) was born in Palermo, Sicily, into a family with connections to the minor nobility. Borgo Santa Lucia, or simply Santa Lucia ("Saint Lucy orough), is a historical ''rione'' of Naples, Italy, facing the coast. Operas
