A Moreninha (novel)
''A Moreninha'' is the first urban novel in Brazilian literature. This novel was written by Joaquim Manuel de Macedo (1820 - 1882), and it was first published in 1844 (the same year the author graduated in medicine) in the format of newspaper serials and later it was adapted to the book format. Joaquim Manuel De Macedo
Joaquim Manuel de Macedo (June 24, 1820 – May 11, 1882) was a Brazilian novelist, doctor, teacher, poet, playwright and journalist, famous for the romance '' A Moreninha''. He is the patron of the 20th chair of the Brazilian Academy of Letters. Life Joaquim Manuel de Macedo was born in the city of Itaboraí, in 1820, to Severino de Macedo Carvalho and Benigna Catarina da Conceição. He graduated in Medicine in 1844, and started to practice it in the inlands of Rio. In the same year, he published his romance ''A Moreninha''. In 1849, he founded the magazine ''Guanabara'', along with Manuel de Araújo Porto-Alegre and Gonçalves Dias. In this magazine, many parts of his lengthy poem ''A Nebulosa'' were published. Returning to Rio, he abandoned Medicine and became a teacher of History and Geography at the Colégio Pedro II. A film adaptation is the transfer of a work or story, in whole or in part, to a feature film. Bibi Ferreira
Abigail Izquierdo Ferreira (1 June 1922 – 13 February 2019), known as Bibi Ferreira, was a Brazilian actress, singer, and director. In a career spanning more than 75 years, Ferreira directed and performed in numerous theatrical productions and was recognized as one of the great divas of Brazilian music. Cacilda Becker Iaconis (6 April 1921 – 14 June 1969) was a Brazilian actress. Life and career Born Cacilda Becker Iaconis, she was the daughter of Italian immigrants, Edmondo Iaconis and Alzira Becker. She had two sisters. One was Cleyde Yáconis, who also became an actress. Her parents' marriage broke up when she was nine years old and her mother was forced to raise the three daughters alone. They settled in the city of Santos.
