A Matter Of Taste (album)
''A Matter of Taste: Serving Up Paul Liebrandt'' is a documentary that follows the career of chef Paul Liebrandt over the course of a decade in New York City. Directed by Sally Rowe, it premiered on HBO on June 13, 2011. Synopsis The film follows the career of Paul Liebrandt as a British chef in post-9/11 New York City. In 2002, at Papillon, he is serving sophisticated cuisine which is out of place with the restaurant's decor, which is described by former ''New York Times'' critic William Grimes as "a dump". Grimes still awarded the restaurant two stars and called Liebrandt "enormously talented". The owners of Papillon decide that they will make more money as a neighborhood restaurant, serving bistro fare. Liebrandt is shown three months later, plating hamburgers and pretending to fall asleep. Paul Liebrandt
Paul Liebrandt is a chef and restaurateur. He was the co-owner of Corton restaurant in New York City and the subject of the documentary film, '' A Matter of Taste: Serving Up Paul Liebrandt''. Liebrandt is known for his daring cuisine, creativity and eccentric style, and has been awarded two Michelin stars. He previously worked at Atlas, Gilt and Papillon restaurants in New York, and in 2008 opened Corton. Liebrandt was born in Harare, Zimbabwe (formerly Salisbury, Rhodesia) on 26 August 1976 and was raised in London, England. After accumulating experience in upscale restaurants in London and Paris, he moved to New York in 1999. A foodie is a person who has an ardent or refined interest in food, and who eats food not only out of hunger but also as a hobby. The Tribeca Festival is an annual film festival organized by TriBeCa Productions, Tribeca Productions.
