A K M Nazmul Hasan
AKM Nazmul Hasan is a major general in the Bangladesh Army who is the incumbent director general of the Boarder Guards Bangladesh (BGB). Prior to that position, he served as director general of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party. He also served as general officer commanding (GOC) of 11th Infantry Division and area commander, Bogura Area. Early life and education Hasan was born on 2 January 1969 in Faridpur District, East Pakistan, Pakistan. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Chittagong and Masters on Defence Studies (MDS) degree from the National University. The 11th Infantry Division ( bn, ১১ম পদাতিক ডিভিশন) is a formation of the Bangladesh Army based in Bogra Cantonment. History In February 1996, President of Bangladesh Abdur Rahman Biswas dismissed the General officer commanding the 11th Infantry Division G.H. Murshed Khan for insubordination and Brigadier General Hameedur Rehman of Bangladesh Rifles. Chief of Staff of Bangladesh Army, Lieutenant General Abu Saleh Mohammed Nasim, revolted against the order leading to the 1996 Bangladeshi coup d'état attempt. The Village Defence Party (VDPs) is a law enforcement force in Bangladesh, organised in distinct units at the level of individual villages and urban towns. It is administered by the Home Ministry of the central Government of Bangladesh. Although domestic security is its main objective, the Village Defence Parties are also specifically charged with working on village development and welfare schemes.
