A Happy Family
''A Happy Family'' is a 1935 short animated film by Columbia Pictures, and part of the ''Krazy Kat'' series. Plot Krazy and Kitty Kat are in a house looking at an album of Krazy's relatives. Krazy receives a telegram from his Uncle Egbert who is coming to visit as well as bringing some relatives. Several moments later, the uncle's car arrives. Although the car is only the size of a station wagon, hundreds of cats come out and file into Krazy's house. Finally, Uncle Egbert shows up and courteously greets Krazy, as well as introducing him to Cousin Katfish (a character from the ''Krazy Kat'' comic strip, though drawn here as a taller figure). At first, things appear okay at home when the older cats are just having a meal, but Krazy becomes dismayed when the kittens do some roughhousing. Krazy tries to intervene but the kittens' troublesome antics keep him at bay. Playing kittens sets a fire, and Krazy's home is ruined. Krazy is forced to take shelter in a dog house. See also * ... Manny Gould
Emanuel Gould (May 30, 1904 – July 19, 1975) was an American animated cartoonist from the 1920s to the 1970s, best known for his contributions as a director, writer and animator for Screen Gems, and solely an animator for Warner Bros. Cartoons and DePatie–Freleng Enterprises. Career Manny Gould began his career as a teenager working for several New York-based animation studios. He would later partner with Ben Harrison to form the short lived Harrison-Gould studios. Both later moved to Winkler Pictures to work on the '' Krazy Kat'' cartoon series as animators, writers and directors. After Charles Mintz took over Winkler Pictures, the studio was moved to Los Angeles in 1931 to develop The Charles Mintz Studio (later renamed Screen Gems) after establishing a partnership with Columbia Pictures. Big Cartoon Database
The Big Cartoon DataBase (or BCDB for short) is an online database of information about animated cartoons, animated feature films, animated television shows, and cartoon shorts. The BCDB project began in 1997 as a list of Disney animated features on creator Dave Koch's local computer. In response to increasing interest in the material, the database went online in 1998 as a searchable resource dedicated to compiling information about cartoons, including production details such as voice actors, producers, and directors, as well as plot summaries and user reviews of cartoons. In 2003, BCDB became a 501(c) non-profit corporation. On June 24, 2009, it was announced by creator Dave Koch on his BCDB forums that the site had 100,000 titles. Due to system issues that have been unable to be resolved, all cartoon information on the site is non-existent after 2019. Users are no longer able to contribute to the site due to the issue. Charles Bear Mintz (November 5, 1889 – December 30, 1939)''Social Security Death Index, 1935–2014''. Social Security Administration. was an American film producer and distributor who assumed control over Margaret J. Winkler's Winkler Pictures after marrying her in 1924. The couple had two children, Katherine and William. Between 1925 and 1939, Mintz produced over 370 cartoon shorts. Career Charles Mintz was unhappy with the production costs on Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks's ''Alice Comedies'', and asked the two to develop a new character. The result was Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, the first animated character for Universal Pictures. In February 1928, when the character proved more successful than expected, Mintz hired away all of Disney's animators except Iwerks, who refused to leave Disney, and moved the production of the Oswald cartoons to his new Winkler Studio, along with Margaret Winkler's brother, George.
