A Flower Bookmark
''A Flower Bookmark'' () is the first cover extended play by South Korean singer-songwriter IU. It is also her fourth Korean-language extended play. The EP was released on May 16, 2014, the singer's birthday, by LOEN Entertainment under its imprint LOEN Tree. Unlike her previous works, ''A Flower Bookmark'' features cover versions of nostalgic K-pop songs popularized from 1980s to 1990s. The EP was successful both commercially and critically. It spawned two hit singles; the lead single "My Old Story" and "The Meaning of You". The former topped ''Billboard'' Korea K-Pop Hot 100, while the latter was ranked at the top of Gallup Korea's Song of the Year in 2014. In particular, the latter has gone to sell more than two million digital copies since release, even outselling the album's lead track. The EP also earned IU a MelOn Music Award for Artist of the Year, and a nomination for Album of the Year and was also listed at number three on ''Billboards list of "Best K-Pop Albums of 20 ... IU (singer)
Lee Ji-eun (; born May 16, 1993), also known by her stage name IU (), is a South Korean singer-songwriter, record producer and actress. She signed with LOEN Entertainment (now Kakao Entertainment) in 2007 as a trainee and debuted as a singer at the age of fifteen with her first extended play (EP) ''Lost and Found'' (2008). Although her follow-up albums, '' Growing Up'' and '' IU...IM'', brought mainstream success, it was only after the release of " Good Day" ( ko, 좋은 날), the lead single from her 2010 album ''Real'', that she achieved national stardom. "Good Day" went on to spend five consecutive weeks at the top of South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart, and in 2019, it was ranked number one on ''Billboard''s "100 Greatest K-Pop Songs of the 2010s" list. The ''Maeil Business Newspaper'' is South Korea's main daily business newspaper. , it had a circulation of roughly 900,000. The president of the publishing company is Chang Dae-hwan. The publishing company Maekyung Media Group also hosts the annual World Knowledge Forum. The first edition of the newspaper was published on March the 24th, 1966, and had 12 pages in its inaugural issue. Clon (duo)
Clon ( ko, 클론) is a South Korean dance music duo that debuted in 1996. The group was extremely popular in South Korea in the late 1990s. Career The duo debuted as part of " Hyun Jin Young and Wawa" in 1990 but it wasn't until 1996 under the supervision of Kim Chang Hwan, a major figure in the Korean music industry, that they got together and formed Clon. Their debut album, "Are You Ready?", proved to be extremely popular. They were often credited for being one of the first groups to incorporate strong dance routines with catchy beats. Clon was produced through DreamBeat, a record label that was popular for other hit singers as well as bringing western music to Korea. In November 2000, a tragic and unfortunate motorcycle accident left Kang Won Rae paralyzed from the waist down. Sanulrim
Sanulrim (Hangul: 산울림), also spelled Sanullim, was a South Korean rock band that debuted in 1977. They are considered to be one of South Korea's most influential rock groups. The band consisted of brothers Kim Chang-wan, Kim Chang-hoon, and Kim Chang-ik. History The three members of Sanulrim are brothers, not unlike the bands Gentle Giant and the Bee Gees. They were Kim Chang-wan (김창완, 1954-), Kim Chang-hoon (김창훈, 1956-), Kim Chang-ik (김창익, 1958-2008). Lee Moon-sae (; ; born January 17, 1959) is a South Korean ballad singer who is often considered a Korean pop icon. Since his debut in 1978, he has released 16 full-length albums, including 1987's ''When Love Passes By'', which sold 2.85 million copies, making it the best-selling album in South Korea to date at the time. Kim Kwang-seok
Kim Kwang-seok (Hangul: 김광석 ; January 22, 1964 – January 6, 1996) was a popular and influential South Korean folk rock singer. He debuted in 1987 as a member of Noraereul Channeun Saramdeul, an activist folk band. He achieved widespread popularity as a member of the folk band Dongmulwon, which debuted in 1988. The following year, in 1989, he released his first solo album. His songs were popular for their sentimental lyrics that critics said "portrayed individuals' sorrow and frustration at a time when the society was struggling in its early stage of democracy following rapid industrialization."
