Nanni Loy
Nanni Loy (born Giovanni Loi; 23 October 1925 – 21 August 1995) was an Italian film, theatre and TV director. Specifically, Nanni Loy was Sardinian, and one of several notable Sardinian film makers, including Franco Solinas. Biography Loy was born in Cagliari, Sardinia: his father was Guglielmo Loy-Donà, a lawyer issue from a distinguished Sardinian-Venetian family, and his mother was the noblewoman Donna Anna Sanjust of the Marquesses of Neoneli. Rosetta Loy, an Italian novelist, is his sister-in-law. He became famous for introducing in Italy the candid camera with his show ''Specchio segreto'' (Secret mirror) in 1965. His 1962 film '' The Four Days of Naples'' was nominated for two Academy Awards. It also won the FIPRESCI Prize at the 3rd Moscow International Film Festival in 1963. Valeria Moriconi (''née'' Abbruzzetti; November 15, 1931 – June 15, 2005) was an Italian actress who appeared both in movies and on stage. Biography Valeria was born in Iesi, in Marche, central Italy. Her earliest work was as a stage actress. She was very young when she acted in an art company, but success came with the movies ''Gli Italiani si voltano'' and ''La Spiaggia''. She won the Golden Grolla award for ''Le soldatesse''. Regina Bianchi (1 January 1921 – 5 April 2013) was an Italian stage and film actress. Life and career Born in Lecce as Regina D'Antigny, she was the daughter of two theater actors. Forced by the fascist phobia of foreign cultures to change her surname, she adopted the surname of her paternal grandmother. At age 16, she entered the stage company of Raffaele Viviani and, that year, debuted in the comedy play ''Campagna napoletana'', in the leading role of Reginella.
