Celtic Woman
Celtic Woman is an all-female Irish musical ensemble conceived and created by David Kavanagh, Sharon Browne and David Downes, a former musical director of the Irish stage show ''Riverdance.'' In 2004, Downes recruited five Irish female musicians who had not previously performed together, vocalists Chloë Agnew, Órla Fallon, Lisa Kelly and Méav Nà Mhaolchatha, and fiddler Máiréad Nesbitt, as the first lineup of the group that he named "Celtic Woman". Downes chose a repertoire that ranged from traditional Celtic tunes to modern songs. The show was meant to be a one-time event held in Dublin, Ireland, but multiple airings on PBS helped boost the group's popularity. The group's line-up has changed over the years. Lisa Kelly
Lisa Kelly (born 7 May 1977) is an Irish singer of both classical and Celtic music and a voice teacher. She has taken part in many musical theatre productions and concerts, and is a founding and former member of the musical group Celtic Woman. Early life Lisa Kelly was born in Dublin, into a musical family, with both her parents, Joe and Noeleen Kelly, and sisters, Joanne and Helen Kelly, being singers. Lisa herself has been singing since the age of seven, when she starred in the musical version of ''Bugsy Malone''. Her parents are both heavily involved in amateur theatre, influencing Lisa toward studying drama, as well as being classically trained in both piano and singing. ''A Christmas Celebration'' is the second studio album released by the group Celtic Woman. Background ''A Christmas Celebration'' was recorded in and released worldwide on 3 October 2006. The album, like the group's self-titled debut album, was produced and arranged by David Downes and features vocalists Chloë Agnew, Órla Fallon, Lisa Kelly, and Méav Nà Mhaolchatha, with violinist Máiréad Nesbitt. In response to the reception earned for their following album, PBS concert special and DVD release ''A New Journey'', a one-off live performance took place on 18 July 2007 at the Helix Theatre in Dublin, Ireland – the same location where the recording for the accompanying PBS concert special and DVD release for the group's debut album was held back in 2004. Máiréad Nesbitt
Máiréad Nesbitt ( , ) is an Irish musician. She is known for performing Celtic and classical music and being the former fiddler for '' Celtic Woman''. She was also one of the two original fiddlers in Michael Flatley’s '' Lord of the Dance'' in the mid to late 1990s, along with its extended version '' Feet of Flames'' in the early 2000s. Background Nesbitt was born to John and Kathleen Nesbitt, both music teachers in Co.Tipperary, Ireland. Lynn Hilary (born 21 April 1982) is an Irish singer, guitarist, and songwriter. She has also performed as a featured soprano soloist in the all-female ensemble Celtic Woman. Career Hilary was born in Dublin, Ireland, and completed a Bachelor of Music performance degree in 2005 at the DIT College of Music. Initially singing classical music, she moved to Celtic music to be able to "use ernatural vocal range". Chloë Alexandra Adele Emily Agnew (born 1989) is an Irish singer and songwriter, best known for being an original and former member of the Celtic music group Celtic Woman. Early life and career Agnew was born to Irish entertainer Adele "Twink" King and Irish oboist David Agnew in Knocklyon, County Dublin, where she lived with her mother and younger sister, Naomi.
