Bass Clarinet
The bass clarinet is a musical instrument of the clarinet family. Like the more common soprano B clarinet, it is usually pitched in B (meaning it is a transposing instrument on which a written C sounds as B), but it plays notes an octave below the soprano B clarinet. Bass clarinets in other keys, notably C and A, also exist, but are very rare (in contrast to the regular A clarinet, which is quite common in classical music). Nasheet Waits is an American jazz drummer. Son of percussionist Freddie Waits, Nasheet Waits is a New York native who has been active on the jazz scene since early in his life. Before pursuing a music career, he studied psychology and history at Morehouse College in Atlanta. He also holds a degree from Long Island University in music. While studying at L.I.U, instructor Michael Carvin secured Waits a spot in the percussion ensemble M'Boom, started by drummer Max Roach and Freddie Waits, in 1970. Double Bass

Tuba
The tuba (; ) is the lowest-pitched musical instrument in the brass family. As with all brass instruments, the sound is produced by lip vibrationa buzzinto a mouthpiece. Mike Fahn (born December 16, 1960) is an American jazz trombonist. Background Fahn was born and raised in Huntington, New York. His father played drums with Lionel Hampton and he started on drums himself. Mike played trumpet, baritone, then at age 12 was playing valve trombone. He later added slide trombone. His sister Melissa is an actress and singer. His brothers, Tom Fahn and Jonathan Fahn, are voice and stage actors. Trumpet
The trumpet is a brass instrument commonly used in classical and jazz ensembles. The trumpet group ranges from the piccolo trumpet—with the highest register in the brass family—to the bass trumpet, pitched one octave below the standard B or C trumpet. Trumpet-like instruments have historically been used as signaling devices in battle or hunting, with examples dating back to at least 1500 BC. They began to be used as musical instruments only in the late 14th or early 15th century. Ron Horton
Ron Horton (born 1960 in Bethesda, Maryland) is an American jazz trumpeter. Biography Horton attended Berklee College of Music from 1978 to 1980. In 1982, he moved to New York City, where, as a longtime member of Jane Ira Bloom's band (1983-2000), he became an integral part of the jazz scene. He has also been a member of the New York Jazz Composers Collective since 1992 and the Herbie Nichols Project under Frank Kimbrough and Ben Allison. From 1998 to 2003 he was also a member of Andrew Hill's sextet, on his album ''Dusk'' (1999). Laurie Frink
Laurie Ann Frink (August 8, 1951, Pender, Nebraska – July 13, 2013, New York City) was an American jazz trumpeter who worked primarily in big band idioms. Frink attended the University of Nebraska (1969-1972) and studied under Jimmy Maxwell (1972-1974). From 1978 to 1987 she played trumpet in the Mel Lewis Orchestra, and during the same period was a member of Gerry Mulligan's concert band. She worked with George Russell in 1980 and with the bands of Benny Goodman (1986) and Buck Clayton (1988). She began playing in Bob Mintzer's ensemble in 1984, playing with him until 1997. From 1992 until her death, she was a member of the Maria Schneider Orchestra. She also worked with John Hollenbeck, Darcy James Argue, and Ryan Truesdell. Dave Ballou is an American jazz trumpeter and associate professor at Towson University, in Maryland. Early life and education Ballou was born in Peace Dale, Rhode Island. He started playing the trumpet at age 11. Ballou received his bachelor's degree at Berklee College of Music in 1986 and his master's degree at the University of New Hampshire in 1992.
