Villain
A villain (also known as a "black hat" or "bad guy"; the feminine form is villainess) is a stock character, whether based on a historical narrative or one of literary fiction. ''Random House Unabridged Dictionary'' defines such a character as "a cruelly malicious person who is involved in or devoted to wickedness or crime; scoundrel; or a character in a play, novel, or the like, who constitutes an important evil agency in the plot". The antonym of a villain is a hero. The villain's structural purpose is to serve as the opposition of the hero character and their motives or evil actions drive a plot along. Badman (web Series)
''Badman'' is a British comedy drama web series that premiered on YouTube in October 2015. It has since had 12 episodes, Ten with the first series, and two thus far into the second series, as of 29 October 2020. The series is created by Humza Arshad and consists of continuous episodes uploaded on his YouTube channel Humza Productions, following the next chapter in the '' Diary of a Badman'' world. Humza is now maturing from boy to man, and takes himself down a path of darkness, but learns life's most important lessons on his journey to the light. Badman Review
The Badman Review, also known as the Review into Elective Home Education in England, was conducted by Graham Badman, the former Director of Children's Services at Kent County Council. The review was commissioned on 19 January 2009 by Ed Balls the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families with a remit to investigate current practice of local authorities in relation to home educators, and also to investigate whether home education could be used as a cover for some forms of child abuse, such as forced marriage and domestic servitude. Published on 11 June 2009 the review's recommendations that related to safeguarding were accepted in full by Ed Balls on the day of publication. The review found no evidence to support suggestions that home education was linked to forced marriage, servitude or child trafficking. Badman is a word that was originally used in Kingston, Jamaica in the 1980s ska and Jamaican dancehall cultures. It was used to describe an anti-social youth who was non law-abiding and was feared by others. They were often gang members. After the integration of Jamaican culture with that of the United Kingdom in the 1970s, ''badman'' (along with several other words and phrases) became of common usage in the UK, where it has gained particular popularity in London and the South-East. The words ''badman'' and very rarely ''badgirl'' are also associated with such UK music scenes as grime, dubstep and big beat. Albert Oliver Badman (18 December 1885 – 24 April 1977) was an Australian politician. Born in Yacka, South Australia, he was educated at state schools before becoming a wheat farmer and wheat breeder. He was a Methodist lay preacher and President of the South Australian Country Party before entering Parliament. In 1931, he was elected to the Australian Senate for South Australia, representing the Country Party. In 1937, Badman transferred to the House of Representatives, winning the seat of Grey.
