Embilipitiya
Embilipitiya is a town, governed by an urban council, in Ratnapura District, Sabaragamuwa Province, Sri Lanka. Overview In the 1970s it was a small town with two or three small boutiques. Under the Udawalawe development project, Embilipitiya grew and currently it is one of towns in Sri Lanka with a modern infrastructure. Embilipitiya is becoming the central hub and the commercial centre of Greater Hambantota development project. Embilipitiya is the nearest city to Sooriyawewa International Cricket Stadium and Mattala International Airport. The six-lane main access road to Mattala Airport comes from Embilipitiya. Kahawatta
Kahawatta ( si, කහවත්ත, ta, கஹவத்தா) is a town in the Ratnapura District, Sabaragamuwa Province, Sri Lanka. It is located in the central mountains of Sri Lanka at an elevation of . The town and its surrounding area is recognised for its large tea plantations and the gem industry. According to local folklore, the area was popular for providing turmeric to the Maha Saman Devalaya of Ratnapura. As a result, the area is known as Kahawatta, which means the "turmeric garden". Transport Kahawatta is situated at the intersection of the Nonagama - Pelmadulla Road (A18) and the Watapotha - Opanayake Road, on the banks of the Wey Ganga.
