''AWOL'' is a 2017 Philippine action thriller film directed by Enzo Williams starring Gerald Anderson. Synopsis Lt. Abel Ibarra (Gerald Anderson), a leader of an elite sniper group, protects his family from a man who plots a revenge to kill him and his love ones after accomplishing mission. Ibarra went on an absence without leave to make an investigation on a crime himself. Plot In the opening, a foreign terrorist Saheed executes a bound man after taking a bagful of money. Abel, alongside his team was inserted to neutralize the foreign terrorist. The mission is successful, but the terrorist committed suicide. Back at a restaurant, during their celebration of a fellow team member's child's christening, a bomb explodes just as Abel and his wife exits, killing all his team members. An old man berated his men for their failure. He swore justice upon his fellows. He tried to plead for clues, but his superior was mum about it, instead giving it to a police officer. Enzo Williams
Enzo Williams is a Filipino filmmaker. Early life Williams decided at nine to become a filmmaker. Career Williams won best film at Los Angeles City College film school in 2012. He returned to Manila in 2014 and directed his first feature film, '' Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo''. It became one of the most awarded films in Filipino cinema. It earned 22 awards, including three for best picture, along with two best director awards: from Star Awards, as well as from the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards (FAMAS) - the country's leading award-giving body. The Philippine National Police ( fil, Pambansang Pulisya ng Pilipinas, acronymed as PNP) is the armed national police force in the Philippines. Its national headquarters is located at Camp Crame in Bagong Lipunan ng Crame, Quezon City. Currently, it has approximately 220,000 personnel to police a population in excess of 100 million. The agency is administered and controlled by the National Police Commission and is part of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). Local police officers are operationally controlled by municipal mayors. DILG, on the other hand, organizes, trains and equips the PNP for the performance of police functions as a police force that is national in scope and civilian in character.
