AU Engineering (Danish: Ingeniørområdet ved Aarhus Universitet) is an umbrella organisation of engineering under Aarhus University. It was established in 2011 and currently comprise two engineering organisations; Department of Engineering (ENG) and Aarhus University School of Engineering (ASE). Departments Both Aarhus University School of Engineering and Department of Engineering have their headquarters at the Navitas Park at Aarhus Docklands. Navitas Park
Navitas (or Navitas Park) is a building in the city of Aarhus, Denmark, located in the Docklands neighborhood in the Midtbyen district. Navitas is owned by the research park INCUBA Science Park, the Aarhus University School of Engineering and the Aarhus School of Marine and Technical Engineering. The three institutions together operate a consortium that maintains the facilities and together they inhabit the building. History Navitas Park was built in response to a growing student population and the need to consolidate educational institutions. The Port of Aarhus has built large new facilities leaving the old industrial sites open for redevelopment. In the 2000s a contest was opened for bidding to establish new facilities for AU Engineering and the Aarhus School of Marine and Technical Engineering while providing additional space for INCUBA Science Park. Aarhus Docklands
Aarhus Docklands (Danish: Aarhus Ø) is a new neighbourhood and construction site in Aarhus, Denmark. Construction of Aarhus Docklands began in 2008 and most buildings and constructions have been finished as of 2018. The project will convert the former container port, Nordhavn in the Port of Aarhus, to a new residential, educational, commercial and recreational area, consisting of high rise buildings of modern architectural designs, seaside promenades and a network of canals. Fully developed, the Docklands neighbourhood is intended to sustain 10-12,000 residents and 10,000 jobs in an area equalling the size of Trøjborg, an adjacent neighbourhood. Aarhus Docklands offers a view of the Aarhus Bay and there is just a short distance to the inner city. Aarhus School Of Marine And Technical Engineering
Aarhus School of Marine and Technical Engineering (Danish: ''Aarhus Maskinmesterskole'' or ''AAMS'') is a school of higher education in Aarhus, Denmark. The school is a self owning institution and offers bachelor's degree in marine and technical engineering - with electives such as marine engineering and automation, energy and technology. In the summer of 2014, the school took residence in the new Navitas building at Aarhus Docklands and initiated a cooperative programme with Business Academy Aarhus, offering Academy Profession Degrees in Automotive Technology (Danish: autoteknolog) and Automation Engineering (Danish: automationsteknolog).
