As Saint Michel is a Malagasy football club based in Antananarivo in the Analamanga zone in central Madagascar. The team plays in THB Champions League the top division of Malagasy football. In 1971 and 1978 the club won the THB Champions League. Mahamasina Stadium
Kianja Barea Mahamasina is a rugby union and football (multi-purpose stadium, multi-purpose) stadium, also used for concerts and athletics, in Antananarivo, Madagascar. Usage It is used mostly for Rugby union, rugby and football (soccer), football matches. The stadium has a 40,880 capacity for football and rugby matches. Incidents In 2005, the stadium was the site of a stampede that killed two people during a match between South African side Kaizer Chiefs and Madagascar's USJF Ravinala. It was also the stadium of the 2007 Indian Ocean Games. On 26 June 2016, during a free concert, a bomb detonated in the stadium, killing two people and injuring around 80. On 8 September 2018 a stampede to enter the stadium killed one person and injured 37. The Pro League Championnat de Football National Division 1 (known as Orange Pro League Madagascar for sponsorship reasons) is the premier football (soccer), football league in Madagascar. Prior to 2019, it was known as the Three Horses Beer-sponsored THB Champions League. Manakara
Manakara is a city in Madagascar. It is the capital Fitovinany Region and of the district of Manakara Atsimo. The city is located at the east coast near the mouth of the Manakara River and has a small port. The bridge over the Manakara River that connected the northern and southern parts of the city partly collapsed in September 2012. It is the endpoint of the Fianarantsoa-Côte Est railway (FCE), which connects the city of Fianarantsoa with the sea. For those interested in traveling to Manakara via the railway, please be advised the train can take over 12 hours at times. It usually leaves Fianarantsoa at 7 in the morning, and is supposed to reach Manakara by 4 pm, but there have been incidences of it not reaching Manakara until much later.
