Campobasso Football Club, commonly referred to as Campobasso, is an Italian football club located in Campobasso, Molise, currently playing in Serie D, the fourth tier of Italian football. The club is the primary team of the region of Molise and traces its roots back to 1919. Campobasso plays its home games in the Nuovo Stadio Romagnoli, which is the largest outdoor stadium in the region of Molise and one of the largest in Southern Italy, with a capacity of 21,800. In 2022, the club was acquired by United States-based holding company North Sixth Group and an investment group backed by Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos, Montreal-based real estate investor Angelo Pasto and other international investors. Stadio Nuovo Romagnoli
Stadio Nuovo Romagnoli is a sports stadium located in Campobasso, the capital of the Molise region of Italy. It is primarily used for association football. The stadium currently hosts the home matches of Campobasso Calcio, S.S. Campobasso who play in the Serie C. History The Stadio Nuovo Romagnoli was designed by former Ascoli Calcio 1898 chairman Constantino Rozzi, who also designed numerous other stadiums across Italy. Work started on the stadium in 1983, and Stadio Nuovo Romagnoli was officially opened on 13 February 1985, when Campobasso defeated Juventus F.C. 1-0 in a Coppa Italia match. The structure of the stadium is very similar to that of the Stadio Ciro Vigorito in Benevento, due to the same project and some of the same architects being involved in the Romagnoli's design. Giancarlo Antognoni
Giancarlo Antognoni (; born 1 April 1954) is an Italian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. A skillful and creative offensive playmaker, regarded as one of the best Italian players of all time in his position, he played most of his club career with Fiorentina, where he won the Coppa Italia and the Anglo-Italian League Cup in 1975. At international level, he won the 1982 FIFA World Cup with the Italy national team, and he also represented his country at the 1978 FIFA World Cup, and at the 1980 UEFA European Championship, finishing in fourth place on both occasions. The Coppa Italia Dilettanti (Italian language, Italian for: Italian Amateurs Cup) is an annual knock-out competition for teams from the fifth and sixth levels of Football in Italy, Italian football: the Eccellenza and the Promozione. All ties except for the final, which is held at the Stadio Flaminio in Rome, are played on a home-and-away basis. The cup-winners are also awarded promotion to Serie D, the fourth-ranked league. Prior to the 1999–2000 season the competition also included teams from Serie D. Eccellenza
The Eccellenza (, "excellence") is the fifth level (since 2014–15) of Italian football. It is a regional league, composed of 28 divisions divided geographically. All 20 regions are represented by at least one division except for Piedmont and Aosta Valley which share 2 divisions. Veneto, Tuscany, Sicily, Emilia-Romagna and Campania also have 2 divisions each, while the regions of Lombardy and Lazio have 3 divisions. Promotion and relegation After the regular season is completed, the first-placed team for each division is automatically promoted to Serie D. Each division also admits one other team to participate in national playoffs that take place in late May and early June. Lega Pro Prima Divisione was the third highest football (soccer), football league in Italy. It consisted of 33 teams, divided geographically into two divisions of 16 and 17 teams for group A and B respectively. Until 2008 it was known as Serie C1. Lega Pro Seconda Divisione was the fourth highest football league in Italy, the lowest with a professional status. Tord Erland Grip (born 13 January 1938) is a Swedish former football coach and player. He has worked with several national teams, including England, Sweden, Indonesia, Mexico, the Ivory Coast and Kosovo. Playing career Grip began his football career as a teenager playing for Ytterhogdals IK, in which he as most footballers of his generation also played bandy, later playing part-time in the top flight for Degerfors IF and AIK while studying for his degree in Physical Education.
