ASC Duisburg
ASC Duisburg (Amateur-Schwimm-Club Duisburg), or simply Duisburg is a sports club based in the city of Duisburg, in Germany. The water polo team is among the strongest in Germany and also, ASC has a large swimming department. The "amateurs" were a total of six German water polo champions and four German water polo Cup winners. History ASC Duisburg was founded in 1909. Currently the club has approximately 3,700 members, making it one of the largest swimming clubs in Germany. The club facility in Duisburg Sports Park is about two acres. In addition, the club has a heated 50-meter swimming pool. Members can also take advantage of the Barbarasee for swimming. Deutsche Wasserball-Liga
The Deutsche Wasserball-Liga (DWL) is the premier category in the league system for water polo clubs in Germany. The men's championship was founded in 1912, but only two editions took place. It was resumed in 1919 and has taken place regularly since except for 1935, 1944 and 1945. Four-times LEN Euroleague, European champions WF Spandau 04 has dominated the championship for the past three decades, with a record 37 titles since 1979. The women's championship was founded in 1982. SV Blau-Weiss Bochum, Blau-Weiss Bochum is its leading team, having won all editions from 2000 to 2011. The Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 is a swimming club in Spandau, Berlin, Germany. The club is known for the water polo team, which has won a record number of German championships with 37, as well as German Cups (31) and Super Cups (17). In European tournaments the team has won 4 LEN Champions Leagues and 2 LEN Super Cup titles. The club has over 3,500 members. The word ''Wasserfreunde'' is German for "Water Friends". LEN Champions League
The LEN Champions League is the top-tier European professional water polo club competition with teams from up to 18 countries. It is organized by the Ligue Européenne de Natation. The competition started in 1963 as European Cup. A change of name and format occurred in 1996, with the competition being renamed Champions League and the final four system being established as the format of choice, for the first time during the 1996–97 LEN Champions League. From 2003 to 2011 the competition was named LEN Euroleague (with the change of name being simply a re-branding) and from 2011 and on LEN Champions League, its current name. 1964 European Cup (water Polo)
The 1964 Water Polo European Cup was the inaugural edition of LEN's premier competition for men's water polo clubs. The competition consisted of two round-robin stages, and it was contested by fifteen national champions. The first stage was held February 21–23, and it comprised a nine-team group in Naples and a six-team group in Magdeburg.
